A nice location but a disappointing apartment

The apartment was in a nice setting on the Yarra. It is also in a nice apartment building, conveniently located. The apartment itself is poorly set up and does not deserve the luxury tag. The apartment was dirty and the carpets were stained. Also the amenities were poor. For example there were minimal amounts of crockery and cutlery and they were of extremely poor quality. During our stay we were unable to access the wifi at all. The owner tried to assist but ultimately did not resolve the issue.

We were looking forward to arriving with good previous communication with the apartment owner. Unfortunately upon arrival we waited for an hour in the lobby for a young employee to meet us so we could leave our bags whilst they started to clean apartment. During the cleaning process, our son turned up & after a lot of frustrating communication they let him in. Let me say that the outlook of the apartment is stunning and the aircon on a extremely hot Melbourne day is the only thing that has made this accommodation experience mediocre at best. No tea spoons, dirty floors, only one key, extremely poor hand over communication due to English not being the cleaning boy’s first language, left us feeling our stay was suboptimal and substandard. Not a great experience and possibly not to be recommended.

No reception means you need to meet someone to get your room keys. They were very friendly and accommodating with us even though it was a short notice booking. Car parking was included at no extra price.

We went up to Melb from Geelong for my son and daughters birthday as a weekend away. This property is clearly a newly owned business opportunity for the owner. They had limited knowledge of the building and how access worked, to the point where our car was stuck in the car park because we did not have access to the car park. This was followed by exceptionally poor contact from the "agent", who had to translate to the owner as they were not able to communicate in english. The pick up and drop off of keys was also not professional in the slightest. They showed up late to drop off, and told me I was early, despite them texting the agreed time. We then arranged to meet at 10am for check out and to receive my deposit back onto my credit card. They didn't show up, and when contacted they then went to the incorrect venue, surely you would know where you're customers are staying. I eventually got my car out of the car park after the owner and I ran up 5 levels in the car park. They did give me some form of refund, but this does not excuse the level of customer service that they offered and also agreed to. VERY DISAPPOINTING

Disappointing accommodation

The apartment was perfectly situated but the overall cleanliness wasn’t very good. Check in was confusing as I didn’t realise that it was a privately owned property and there was no communication until we literally arrived. We were left wondering how we were supposed to find out where we were staying and how to get in. The apartment didn’t have enough kitchen accessories to stay for more than one night. If you were to stay any longer you would have no choice but to eat out as there wasn’t enough practical items to cook. The carpets were stained and walls filthy!! For the price I was disappointed as I expected it to have everything we could possibly need for our stay. Then I was told I would have to pay for parking although it stated free parking. After many complications and running around I finally got a car park but I then had to move my car on return from the event we attended. I thought it ridiculous that I had to accommodate the owner instead of the other way around. Overall I wouldn’t choose to stay again

Great view, could have been cleaner

I wouldn't call this a hotel, it's more an apartment rental - no front desk or staff. Arrived to a rather grand foyer, but had to wait 20 minutes for someone to give me a key (after giving 30 minutes notice of my arrival as requested). Room was spacious and well appointed, with an open balcony and sweeping views of the river. Cleaning could have been more detailed with loose hairs and dust on most surfaces, and stained carpets in the bedrooms. One of the towels smelled putrid, though the others were okay. When I checked the cupboards for a luggage rack (not found) I noticed sheets and towels stuffed on the top shelf - I'm assuming from a previous guest. No hand towels or hairdryer provided. Overall, an okay stay.
