The property is lovely and of course the Maynooth area is spectacular - a couple of updates did not sit well my last visit did not sit well. The first was how warm the rooms are - we were in the newly renovated family rooms, and they got very warm/stuffy. We actually had to be moved rooms because the first one was was unbearable, the children would never have been able to sleep in it. The second one was much better, but still not great. I wonder am I spoiled by North American hotels that has temperature control/air conditioning, but it does make me worry about what these rooms will be like in the summer.
Also, the changes tot he restaurant downstairs seems odd - the food is nice, but moving it to a high end type menu, getting rid of lunch, while it still essentially seems to be a hotel bar seems odd. And not being open for a pint of Guinness until 3pm seems a very odd choice for an Irish hotel.
Staff were amazing as usual, pool and gym are fantastic.
