We wanted to get a more local feel to our four night trip to Marrakesh, so opted to stay in a riad rather than a hotel. We are pleased that we chose the Riad Azrur for our stay. Ibrahim, who manages the riad on a day to day basis was a great host and a source of information. Ibrahim helped us download and install the Maps.me app which has offline maps of Marrakesh. The riad isn't accessible to cars.
We were in the room Bab Aylan. The room is en-suite and the bedroom is air conditioned. There is a safe in the room for your personal belongings. There's no TV in the bedroom, but there is one available in the common area off the courtyard. The bedroom window faced the wall on the other side of the alley, but let in enough light and didn't feel obtrusive. The one downside was that the shower would run hot and cold, but wasn't a problem once you got used to it.
The private roof terrace has 4 sunbeds and two seating areas and an outdoor shower. Also on this floor is a massage room and indoor toilet and shower.
The riad was within 30 minutes walk of all the major sights, many of which required walking through the souks (so the mapping app proved essential to avoid getting lost and worked very well offline).
Ibrahim arranged for our transport back to the airport and it was nice of him to also send us a message after we got home, hoping we had a safe trip.
I highly recommend this riad for a relaxing home from home experience.
