"The property is not doubt incredible.
What makes this place is the staff.
You can have the most beautiful place but without the staff it's simply a beautiful place.
Solenn, the chef, (i can not remember his name and Sumo the boat captain were are what makes this place amazing. Their level of customer service with a caring heart is unbelievable. I can not emphasize this enough. The food is amazing. Everything we ate was delicious. DELICIOUS! We would have surprise dinners where we didn't know what we were going to have. This was such a fun little twist.
Housekeeping would wisk in while we were at breakfast and clean our rooms. There were other ladies here cleaning up nature's little messes. (raking leaves that had fallen overnight).
My husband and I both had the massage with the body scrub. AMAZING!!
We went on a day trip where we were able to snorkel. We saw fish that we had never seen with the most vibrant colors. Learned about pearls, vanilla, how to make rum then swam with black tip reef shark!!
Definitely worth it.
Thank you to Solenn for making our time here so amazing. She is a gem."
"We enjoyed the place very much. Guy and Diane are very nice, courteous and accommodating.
Remember this is not a hotel; it’s rather like an Airbnb and the hosts are staying at the connecting quarter during the time of your stay. During your stay, you would basically have the main house to yourself. We, a couple of 2 from CA, stayed for 4 nights here during the first leg of our 2 weeks trips in a 4 islands hoping in Tahiti. At first we were a little surprised because we expected to check into a hotel, but then realized we are entering someone’s house, but during the stay we feel at ease and learn to like the place a lot.
We drove here with a rental car from the airport; Guy helped us arranged a car rental and the agency met us at the airport to drop off the car. The price is better than reservation made online through Orbitz or car rental companies directly. Google map directed us there without a problem. You park in the grass area of the front yard.
WiFi is very fast. We have T-Mobile cellular so we use our allotted data when WiFi is not available.
We paid for our stay directly to hotel.com during booking and paid Guy the tax and breakfast. I would say it’s better to buy whatever you want at the markets and make your own breakfast which is more to your liking because the breakfast provided is very basic! There are several supermarkets in town including super U and Carrefour. The fish are fresh and inexpensive and with the kitchen, that’s a plus. (Space limit)"
"The staff was awesome. Not only do they exude Polynesian hospitality, they cater to your every need. Checking wasn’t about signing this and that. It was a lei greeting, a chilled, flower scented hand towel, and a cool, refreshing flavored ice tea while sitting in a comfortable chair. Our bags were delivered to our bungalow while we were given the info about meal times and amenities. The food was always a hit. Ono as we say back home. Broke da mout! I’m gonna miss it.
Erika and Vaite were working very hard, but they always had a big smile whenever they were with guests. They’d serve every course at every meal with a smile, even if they were just bringing coffee or tea. Walking back from an ocean swim, I’d pass the restaurant and hear “ia orana”. The gentleman keeping the grounds clean and tidy would also greet us without fail. Opoa Beach will make you feel so welcome and relaxed. You won’t want to leave. We will return. Hopefully, sometime soon."
"This is an absolute haven of tranquility and you don’t expect a lodge like that while driving down the East coast of Raiatea. The garden is stunning and you can read about all the plants. By the small beach is a lily pond and the hillside is a jungle of the most amazing vegetation. I was greeted very warmly and shown around, there is a beautiful communal area with a kitchen that is fully stocked and then you have little spaces in and outside of the fridge for the things you buy for yourself. There are no meals offered, you have to prepare them yourself. "
