"We stay in 2 bedrooms suite. Room decoration is good clean and good space. Very good view and can open the door, winter for fresh air. I feel like stay in condimenium having kitchen and there are washing and drying machine in the hotel. The location is great near the attraction in the walking area. Near testaurant and mall. We will recommend our friend when visit Victoria."

"Beautiful place to stay. The highlight is the breakfast prepared by a chef, and the lovely deer that were grazing outside. It’s also a short walk up the street to the lieutenant governor’s residence with the lovely walking trails and Craigdarroch castle."

"An absolute delight to stay here, especially in the tea house proper. The room had so much personality, and right from the start, the staff made it clear that they would help us with anything we needed. Afternoon tea was flawless, and the breakfast was top-notch. We wish we’d stayed longer than one night!"

"This was the perfect hotel for us. The services were very good. The AC worked very well, both in temperature control and speed. The previous hotel had a one speed fan, high and very noisy. So this was a huge relief. The comfort made up for the aging of the carpet and furniture. No biggy for me."

"Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Fairmont Empress. The rooms are lovely and comfortable, but the carpeting—both inside the rooms and throughout the hallways—feels a bit worn and could use refreshing. The service, however, is consistently excellent, with staff who are warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. One thing I did notice was that the pool area floor tended to be a bit dirty each day, which took away from the otherwise great amenities. The in room dining is great as well. In short:...

"We stayed in a room outside of the house. We did not get to experience the beauty on the inside other than eating a very good breakfast in the front room. Our room was muggy and not very nice. Would we stay here again… probably not. Beautiful home, would have a better experience if we stayed inside the home."

"The windows in our room were so dirty that it was hard to see the view. The rug was thread bear and had a hole that had been poorly repaired with the rug pad showing through . The gardens may have been lovely in years gone by but clearly aren’t getting any attention now. For almost $400 Canadian/ night I would expect more attention to detail and care for this beautiful old home. I won’t return"

"Reception was very accommodating. Having a high quality pet friendly option so close to the action is great. Having to pay extra for parking doesn’t match the vibe of the hotel and likely generates the bulk of the complaints; I would question if the aggravation is worth the little bit of revenue it generates."
