"We stayed at the Dakota Hotel for our anniversary and while the hotel itself is undeniably stylish, there were a few disappointing aspects that didn’t match the standard being presented.
The interiors are beautiful and the overall atmosphere is lovely, especially for a special occasion. The room was clean and comfortable, and staff were polite and welcoming.
However, the parking was a let-down. The car park felt quite scruffy and poorly maintained, and having to pay extra for it didn’t feel justified given the condition and the price point of the hotel.
More importantly, the lack of basic amenities was surprising. There were no robes, slippers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, or even a hair dryer provided. For a hotel that markets itself as luxury, these are fairly standard expectations and their absence was noticeable.
Overall, while the hotel looks the part, it doesn’t fully deliver on the details you’d expect at this level. With a few improvements, it could be a much better experience."
