We loved Britannia House. The property is truly lovely and the service is very personalized. Tobi, the proprietor, was there to welcome us, cooked us breakfast in the house's kitchen, and gave us great recommendations. The first night we were there, it was very hot, but a simple fan took care of things.
Great location for a weekend stay. Comfortable room, good location a short walk from Lymington town centre, and an excellent cooked-to-order breakfast.
The place is very nicely kept, immaculate it is just like a trip to the past to the Victorian époque. Close to all amenities and the Host is a first class gentleman. Highly recommended!!!!
Very convenient location at bottom of high street; spacious and very comfortable room and bathroom; very friendly and helpful host. Totally peaceful at night too. Right by the station, which could be terrific if you were using the stay as a base.
Charming accommodation and host. Very comfortable and a delightful location with parking off street. The home cooked breakfast each morning was excellent.
We have stayed here before, some years ago. Toby, the proprietor, made us very welcome . Not only did our bedroom(# 1) have an ensuite bathroom we also had a magnificent sitting room(this is for all guests).
Wi-Fi is excellent and the train station is a brief walk. Breakfast is a friendly start to the day with guests sharing a large kitchen table in the kitchen. Toby will cook your eggs to order!
Tobi is a charming host and the location is fantastic - just a block from the end of the High Street, and a block from the trendy part of the wharf. Off-street parking was available, too. Our room was in one of the townhouses across the street and was QUIET (we're light sleepers). And the breakfast was the best we’ve had so far during our trip – fresh, well prepared, and delicious.
Great location - 2 mins frm the station, 1 min form the wonderful Bosun's Chair pub and 10 mins walk to the Yacht Club/town centre.
The free parking was very handy.
Breakfast absolutely sensational.
I stopped at the Britannia, on the recommendation of a local contact. I was there on business and I found Toby was extremely charming and could not do enough to ensure your stay was good.
As for breakfast, it was worth travelling 150 miles just for that!
If you want room service or a concierge then find a hotel and pay the appropriate rates. The Britannia is a B & B and is great value for money. Friendly, comfortable, convenient and good food, what more does anyone expect?
Thank you Toby
Tobi welcomed us and showed us to our spacious room.
Very good breakfast.
Very close to station which was very handy for the boat show in Southampton.
15 minute walk to IOW ferry.
Met by the convivial host Tobi, who looks after you very well. We stayed in the apartment which was excellent for our needs. Comfortable bedroom with ensuite. Upstairs there was a lounge and fully equipped kitchen, with the added bonus of a balcony to sit out on. Tobi provided local information as to places to visit and restaurants to eat at, which is very helpful for visitors not familiar with the area. Location is ideal only a short stroll into Lymington high street where all the amenities are available. Additionally you are right next to the station if you wish to travel to the IOW ferry, only one stop away, or go further afield.
We enjoyed a very comfortable room, beautifully furnished and quiet. Location great, a few minutes walk into town. Parking very useful. The owner was very helpful with restaurant recommendations. Delicious cooked breakfast with fresh coffee and friendly chatter.
My husband and I booked "the apartment" for eight days after a cruise which ended at Southampton. We really enjoyed our stay at Britannia House. Toby was very welcoming and did everything he could to make our stay enjoyable including serving an excellent breakfast each morning. Lymington is a very enjoyable place, especially for people who like the water. The Britannia House is literally right next to the train station. (Don't worry, you don't hear any train noises while in your room.) And, it is a very short walk to the Isle of Wight Ferry from Britannia House. Toby gave us many good tips about local restaurants, Market Day, etc. Our only problem was that we left too soon! We so enjoyed everything Lymington and the Britannia House had to offer. Highlights included many evenings spent sitting on the balcony enjoying the view of the Isle of Wight and sipping a glass of wine! We also enjoyed taking the train to Winchester and visiting the Cathedral (take the guided tour there, it's worth it). We also visited Beaulieu at Toby's prompting and enjoyed the beautiful house and gardens there. The best thing I can say about Britannia House is that we hope to visit again very soon....
Very friendly host. Room was lovely, Good advise on the area. Nice walks around the coast and marina. Nice local quirky shops that you wouldn't find any where else. Would happily stay again.
