"Everything about this property was perfect. Lovely clean room with modern power shower beautifully tiled. Lots of little extras such as luxury soap, shower gel, body lotion. Plenty of tea and coffee sachets and a small bottle of milk each day, not to mention the little chocolates and hot chocolate and biscuits. A small fridge with ice box in the room and of course a kettle. They just enjoyed adding those extra touches which make all the difference. The outdoor pool and sunbeds were perfect...

"Just arrived home after a fabulous stay! What a truly glorious place to relax and unwind. The spa was lovely, the food was excellent, and every member of staff made our visit so special. "Lovely place, lovely people, lovely breakfast. No air conditioning was a bad feature. The fan provided had no impact. If it had been the heatwave week it would have been unbearable."

"Our room was very very hot needs ac ,we was give a large fan but it was very loud. Shower pressure not great. When asked for ice as our water was warm was given minimum which melted very fast, in these hot conditions fridges should be provided. Overall the staff very polite & friendly beautiful building."

But I then found that it coincided with football being shown on a large screen TV just yards away in the courtyard from my window, and that my room was next door to a gents toilet open to the visitors (ie public). "The Barnsdale hotel is in a lovely and convenient setting with ample parking. The Sydnet spa is great and the pool was wonderful for an afternoon cool down. Plus super cute Highland cows! Breakfast and dinner is wonderful in the beautiful courtyard. The Barnsdale is an old building which means the lack of air conditioning was a challenge during the heatwave. The power shower remains a mystery why anyone thought this was a good choice to install!"
