  • Located on St. George Hill, over-looking the city of Lviv, the church was the perfect target for destruction in the past. At least two versions of the St. George Cathedral were built before the final construction of the church as it is seen today. The Cathedral of St. George became the mother congregation of the Greek-Catholic religion in Ukraine. The St. George Cathedral in Lviv, is home to one of the most treasured relics, which was brought to the cathedral by Bishop Jiseph Shumlianskyi in 1674. It is the Icon of the Virgin Mary, and is a spectacular and preserved artifact. The interior was decorated with luxurious embellishments created by the local artistic talents of Lviv. Pinsel, the sculptor of the cathedral, created the spectacular St. George (known as the Dragon Slayer) statue. The St. George statue can be viewed in the attic of the cathedral, while the intimidating statues of St. Athanasius and St. Leo protect the portal. Renovations to the St. George Cathedral took place in the 1996, restoring the original beauty of the cathedral. Tourists, visiting this amazing historical masterpiece will not be disappointed. Over and above the cathedral, visitors can also visit the belfry, walk through the peaceful gardens or enter the final resting place of many important figures of the past in the tombs below the cathedral.

Gutes Hotel an guter Verkehrslage

Das Hotel hat schöne, saubere Zimmer/Suiten und Bungalows. Die Anlage ist sehr gepflegt. Ein guter Ort für Entspannung. Das Hotel liegt nahe an einer stark befahrenen Straße, aber im Innern ist kein Verkehrslärm zu hören. Hinter dem Hotel, wo sich auch die Bungalows befinden, befindet sich ein schöner Üark mit einem grossen Teich. Ideal zum spazieren. Besuchen das Hotel seit Jahren immer im Juni und September.

3 cift olarak 3 oda satin alarak gittigimiz otelde bize kotu davrandilar. Yilbasi gala yemegi dahil yazmasina ragmen bizi yemege almadilar. Ve uc odanin ikisine kotu oda verdiler. Gitmeden taksiyi sormamiza ve 200 grivna demelerine ragmen 350 grivna aldilar. Otel merkeze uzak kotu hava sartlarinda ulasim zor. Cok anlayissiz ve kabaydilar bir daha tercih etmem.

Vi besökte Lviv i 4 dagar. Och bodde på hotellet det ligger lite avsides vid en stor väg men får man rum mot den lilla dammen/sjön på baksidan så är det väldigt fint. Rummen är trevliga och hotellet i stort är fint dock kan man önska lite bättre frukost. Tur taxi är billigt kommer gärna tillbaka.

Schöne Unterkunft mit sehr freundlichem Personal, etwas außerhalb von Lemberg. Nach Lemberg hinein nimmt man am besten ein Taxi. Ein wunderschönes, sehenswertes Zentrum mit großer Fußgängerzone und erstaunlich vielen jungen Leuten sowie etlichen wirklich guten Straßenmusikern. Eine Stadt mit Flair für die wir leider nur einen Tag Zeit hatten. Herzlich

really nice hotel close to the airport. the back of the hotel is very picturesque with a pond and lots of trees. checkin was easy and the rooms very cozy and comfortable. we also are at the restaurant on site and it was delicious. breakfast is included and also good.
