Hotel was ok.

The Pool is not usable (never been cleaned) Either clean the pool or take it off the web site. Stayed three nights with no maid service. Hotel is clean and not any trouble at night. Ok for a stay on the road.

Thin walls and they need bleach!

At first glance seemed fine when we checked in. Then we noticed dog prints on our sheets. The towels and sheets weren’t “dirty” but they definitely weren’t bleached. You could see everything which was gross. Then went into the bathroom and the garbage wasn’t emptied from the previous guests. Gross again. We went to bed then shortly after our neighbors checked in. It felt like they were in our room. Also the ice machine was not working. The lady that checked us in was very friendly and I also noticed they had cameras facing the parking lot which made us feel better about parking our car there.

It was dirty-had to ask to have room cleaned, water didn't go down in sink, phone didn't work, office not open often. workers acted like it was a problem to assist. We liked the location-definitely a low class motel.

The room was clean. The area is not the best. I had an ashtray of all things stolen when some homeless folks walked through the property. The manager wasn’t helpful regarding the tv in one room that wasn’t working, and finally moved me to another room where the bathroom light was out. I asked for a bulb to replace, but he never got off his butt to get me a new bulb.

Only stay here at Marriott in Merced

Checking in was quick and really professional. Briann is a super star like Angel at the front desk at night. It’s worth a little more to just book and stay here at Marriott. We use this hotel for family trips to UC Merced to see our kids/adults. Save the trouble, stay here at Marriott. Pitch in a little more and get the breakfast burrito to go in the morning if you like to eat on the run. It’s fantastic. The kitchen and bistro service team are great because they have good attitudes. I was in the elevator and one of the housekeepers asked if I needed anything at all, and even encouraged me to call if wanted anything brought to the room like more pillows or towels or shower amenities. This is a different level of service you won’t get anywhere else in Merced. My daughter forgot headphones in room and the front desk person stayed on phone and had room checked for headphones. They were at the front desk when we returned. I made sure to leave 5$ per guest for our room as a tip when we left for the housekeeping staff. We will not stay anywhere else in Merced.

On the bright side, the air conditioning worked great, and wasn't terribly noisy. Given the 100-degree days we had, that was a must. Also, staff on site was helpful, friendly, and available 24 hrs as advertised. And the price was fantastic. Otherwise, the experience was not so good. The floor of the room was filthy, like it hadn't been cleaned in months; we had to wear shoes after taking a shower, or our feet would turn black from filth. The dresser had a drawer broken off. The toilet struggled to flush, and made horrible noises when flushed. The chain for the door was missing. We had to ask for hand soap. The beds were hard as rocks. There was no "Do Not Disturb" indicator for the staff for when we wanted to be avoided. The in-room coffee was terrible. The pool was out of service (not advertised), which was one of the main reasons we booked in the first place. You don't expect much from this class of hotel, but you should, at a minimum, have a functional and clean room.

Needs Serious Repair & Customer Service Training

CUSTOMER SERVICE ISSUES: * Arrived at 1:30. Sign in office window said OPEN. Office was locked. Rang bell several times with no response. Called motel & was told rather brusquely, "Check-in is at 3 o'clock. Come back at 3 o'clock. * Never before has a hotel or motel told us to "go away" and come back at their convenience. (Even a national "low price" motel chain where I stay once a month on business is happy to at least greet me when I arrive -- and always provides an early check-in at no charge if a room is ready.) ROOM ISSUES: * Door so badly warped that a mouse or rat could get in thru the gap (see photo). * No closet of any kind for hanging clothes - just a 2-pronged hanger, half way down the bathroom door. * No luggage rack for suitcase. * No electrical outlet anywhere near desk. * Office chair at desk damaged & bent -- leans disconcertingly to one side. * Cover on heating/cooling unit appears ready to fall off. * Fan on heating/cooling unit very erratic in speed -- very annoying. Appears to be caused by faulty fan selector switch. When this switch is on "COOL,' the heating/cooling unit puts out warm air. * Two nightstands, but only one has a lamp. * Refrigerator door doesn't seal; therefore there is half an inch of ice coating the freezer surfaces. Fridge had been unplugged so it wasn't useable, and falling ice chunks awakened us at night. * Mattress extremely hard. * Pillows very thin and uncomfortable. * Coffee maker, but no coffee or coffee cups.

The room is clean parking was really close to the room very easy to get in and out of the property. The manager and staff were extremely friendly we were having trouble connecting to the cable manager didn't hesitate for a second she went straight to the room and helped us set it up was done super fast and they were friends we stayed three days two nights. I love that we had an iron ironing board microwave refrigerator and hair dryer. My husband and I especially loved the refrigerator and microwave I saved us a lot of money on having to go out to eat. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family and I would definitely be coming back for our next getaway.
