Mountain Lake Inn

"Stayed here annually for many years when it was a Best Western hotel. It is under new management without the BW franchise now. Many of the amenities (ice machines, washers and dryers , etc.) were either down or missing. Room was clean and adequate and staff willingly provided a needed rollout bed for a third person. Breakfast offered less variety but was adequate. The good news is that the room rate was significantly less than the BW rate."

"Very nice lake view from patio. Restaurant on site wasn’t open during our stay. Room very dated but renovations done to the best of their abilities on a motel built in the ‘30’s."

"Property was beautiful with breathtaking views. Our room didn't get cleaned on the second day even after telling the staff we'd be out of the room remainder of the day. That was disappointing but nothing terrible. Also seemed that part of the hotel underwent renovations at some point so some rooms appeared to have nicer amenities. We enjoyed our stay the grounds and staff. Would recommend."

"It's a historic propery- about 130 years old. But it's in very good shape. The place has character, but with nice attention to detail. The restaurant/bar is great. The fried cod and chicken meatloaf entrees were delicious, but I didn't like the string beans (undercooked). The room was cozy, clean and quiet (we had one facing the lake and not the street)."

"I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Cambria Lake Placid. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious (especially the bathroom and shower). Also, the room was outfitted nicely with a Keurig coffee maker, microwave, and fridge. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had breakfast at the Haystack restaurant located on the property twice and each time found the service to be attentive and the food very good. The location of the hotel is great too, a bit removed from the busy main strip in Lake Placid. Highly recommend and will definitely stay at the Cambria for my next trip to the Adirondacks."

"Great location right on the water, clean rooms, small breakfast provided which was nice. Only gripe - get a tp holder on a pole to move around in bathroom. The present location is not easy to get to the toilet paper. It’s sorta a reach in back of you thing. Has a restaurant attached which was good and the lone waiter was terrific."
