"This is one of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. The location is a reasonable distance from the busy city of Porto over the river, while still being very accessible on the Gaia side, near the port wine cellars. We booked a studio room overlooking the Douro River with a stunning balcony view of the Luís I Bridge that we had to see to believe. "I had an incredible stay at this property. I was only here for a day and a half, but the hosts gave me great recommendations for restaurants and other things to do. The room was extremely clean and well-furnished. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. The location cannot be beat! Right by the river so you can watch sunrise or sunset every day. It is also very secure. I would definitely stay here again!"

"I almost don't want anyone to know about the casa, but this is truly the best place to stay in porto. Not 5 minutes from the main historical square. But off the beaten path you walk down a deserted cobbled street; an unassuming door and in you walk to a luscious piazza garden with fountain; beautiful flowers and smells with a plush walk out to see the river and a good deal of porto. "Cons 1. Hairdryer was jammed when we checked in & the head had to be replaced as it was inoperable due to hair jammed into the head of the hairdryer. 2. The website says air-conditioned rooms but staff informed they are air cooled.The first night was very sweaty & uncomfortable to get sleep. Staff asked us to open the window for ventilation.This wasn't an option as this overlooks a highway & lot of traffic noise. 3. The hotel is located in Gais & requires Bolt & Uber for any Porto related...
