"Once upon a time, this must have been a wonderful hotel, but it is no longer close to a five-star standard. The rating must have been granted long ago and clearly has not been reassessed recently. There is an overriding sense that the property is cutting every corner to manage costs, and it is evident that their focus is on the restaurant and local clientele rather than their overnight guests. "Clean room, lovely staff, easy parking, nice breakfast. This is the budget brand so expect a small room. In our room, there was a small closet for the toilet and the sink, shower stall and beds are in the same room. Okay for a couple (which we are) but if you are traveling with a friend or your child, there is no privacy for a shower in the standard twin room. As I mentioned, best for a couple. The breakfast was nice and a good value."
