"Beautiful setting and unique experience. The Toucan is very small and the ladder towards the top difficult to climb. Not for very young kids or kids afraid of heights like one of my daughters. The breakfast is freshly made and good although fairly basic (egg combination different every day with fresh fruits, single menu option). Wi-fi is unsteady but great at times. A/C cools the room downstairs quickly - it was hot but tolerable in the upper room. The walk to the river is great. The night tour was good but the guide was not a professionnal, rather a local person so not that knowledgeable about wildlife. The staff helps you get food delivered but the food we ordered was not great and the hustle to get it not ideal; that was the biggest disadvantage of the location in my opinion. Bring your snacks and drinks before you go! Also the tour with Juan Carlos are amazing and I highly recommend them to visit the area. A great rustic place overall!"

"If you were only staying for one or two nights in Chachagua, then this motel might suit you fine, please be highly aware of their nonrefundable policy. I made the mistake of booking this hotel for two weeks so that I had a homebase for my entire stay in Costa Rica. When I realize that I was not very happy staying there, I was unable to cancel or get refunded for my unused nights."

"Property and amenities were pretty good: full service restaurant although with limited options. Activities on site were good (chocolate making / dairy work / rainforest walk). Sloths on the grounds, so many birds and butterflies. Pool area was nice but could've been cleaner (old drinks glasses weren't cleaned up, pool water quite dirty, tiles missing) Our room was the Earth House and it was fine although could benefit from the floor being redone and the bathroom could've been nicer. I would say overall 7/10 for the room, 9/10 for food quality, 7/10 for food choice, 10/10 for the staff. Big love to Elli in the restaurant and to the owners who we were happy to meet!"

"The lodge may not look luxurious but the staff make sure you feel like it is. Insuring all your needs are met. The staff were amazing, first class! All meals were a beautiful presentation and they got to know you and then catered to your tastes. He mad my husband a fresh picante sauce. We loved the location. We were looking for some conveniences but preferred a non touristy place. It was perfect for the type of trip we wanted. The sounds of the rainforest surrounds the lodge. We thought it was beautiful! "

"We had a wonderful 3-night stay at Oro Verde! Everything was in excellent condition and the place is very well-maintained. We loved the fact that when we arrived the property had a nice pool that we weren’t expecting, so it was a great surprise! The property is located in a quiet and peaceful area surrounded by nature and at the same time the location is incredibly convenient, just 15-minute drive to La Fortuna. Our experience was great from start to finish!"
