"At the time of writing, this hotel has a 9.2 on Expedia. That is truly absurd. This hotel is old (they don’t call it “historic” for nothing) and run down (featuring peeling wallpaper, a saggy matress, threadbare carpet and a kitchen that looks like it was built in the 80s). Making things worse, there is literally not a single thing of interest in Kumara (it only exists because it is a stop on the West Coast Wilderness Trail). " Very nice - clean comfortable bedroom and nice common areas. Breakfast offerings were much more than we needed/wanted. The yogurt, fruit and toast were great. Coffee was a bit weak (but we prefer strong coffee or a flat white)"

"We were given an unexpected room upgrade from one triple to two ocean view rooms on arrival. The delicious dinners were offered on the covered patio overlooking the extensive flowering gardens and the ocean before our hosts treated us to an amphibious beach buggy ride at sunset. We finished the day relaxing in the hot tub. Wonderful day. They made it so easy to include everything they offered. Would highly recommend to anyone. "

"The worst bed I’ve ever experienced, it was like the top of the mattress had been stripped off and you’re left laying directly on the firm springs digging into you all night. Just when I thought the stay couldn’t been less enjoyable, the shower in the morning was a constantly fluctuating hot, cold, hot, cold… Then during checkout time there’s not a single staff member in sight and just a key drop box, like they’re purposely hiding to not have to deal with the complaints in person. "

"Gute Lage zur Stadt, die Unterkunft war sauber und gut ausgestattet. Aufgrund der Lage etwas lsut, aber Ohropax war vom gastgeber bereitgestellt. Ein paar Kleinigkeiten: die Bettdecke im Einzelbett war zu groß, das ließ sich nicht gut schlafen. Zudem waren die scharfen Messer leider nicht mehr scharf. Und eine Kaffeemaschine für Pads macht ohne einen Grundvorrat an Pads wenig Sinn."
