when we checked in we were met by a guy named Turah. He was fantastic at helping us during the entire stay. With recommendations of where to snorkel, eat, and how to get around. He knew my name from the first day and always greeting us with a smile. We are thankful he was there.

Incroyable

Pas grand chose à dire à part que tout était parfait, la piscine à débordement avec vu sur la plage juste incroyable, les chambres très typiques et en même temps simple et confortable. Le personnel d’une extrême gentillesse. Il n’y a eu que du positif, si je devais retourner à Koh tao je reprendrais cet hôtel sans hésiter.

Fisherman had awesome decor and facilities, in the center of one of our favorite beaches on Koh Tao. We loved plopping down on the sandbar and enjoying it for the whole afternoon. Total bliss. Fisherman Pros: pretty hotel, stellar pool and garden, great location, and direct PERFECT beach access. Cons: shower could be much hotter, no mosquito nets (what?!) and gaps in the bathroom screens and living room wooden slats that allowed in a lot of bugs. There was a GIANT centipede in our bed and overnight the bathroom and shower room filled with mosquitos -- to the point that we couldn't even use the bathroom unless one person stood at the door with a towel to kill mosquitos so that the other person could pee. Seriously. it was super off-putting for the price (~60/night) and the fact that most everywhere in thailand has nets to prevent this problem.

Pros: Close to beach Extremely friendly and helpful staff AC worked well Mosquito net provided Hot water Cons: Doors aren’t sealed, lots of spiders and lizards got into our room Not a lot to do in this area expect go to dive school Bungalows are dated - they were renovating when we were there If your whole group is doing dive classes in this area, it’s perfect. But if anyone in your group isn’t doing diving, stay in Sairee beach area instead.

Best bang for your buck! Beautiful resort on the beach, right next to seven eleven and many other restaurants. Close to the pier and many diving schools. The mattress was comfortable. Hot water didn't really work but the rest of the stay was awesome. Service and staff were friendly and helpful!

Greit resort

Oppholdet var greit. Veldig lytt, da det ikke var vinduer, men lemmer. Lett å bli forstyrret av "bråkete" naboer. Ikke veldig hyggelig betjening . Vi var der i 2 netter og det var ok. Veldig langgrunt der, så vi gikk til freedom beach som ikke lå langt unna. Der var det flott

Perfect service.

Perfect location if you rent a bike( however be carefull , when you rent bike , that they will not charge you for scrates you do not make ) and go on your own. Perfect service on the hotel.

Good value modern room

A modern room which was good considering the price. Good value and better standard than other similarly priced rooms on the island. That said, I don't know if all the rooms in the resort are as modern. Comfortable bed, very clean on arrival and located right on the waterfront. The beach however is very narrow and for much of the day when the tide is in there was no room on the beach, even walking the length of it was difficult due to the trees on the shore, that said, it's a nice but steep walk to Freedom Beach which was well worth the journey. Shower was very nice although the water was often cold depending on the time of day. Wifi was good compared to other places on the island.

Idyllische Hotelanlage mit sehr sympathischem Team

Bei Expedia haben wir (Paar Ende 20) von einem Shuttle-Service gelesen, den wir über Facebook beim Hotel angefordert haben. Wir wurden mit Namensschild am Pier empfangen und direkt zum Hotel gefahren(etwa 1,5 km). Am Hotel angekommen, wurde wir freundlich empfangen, der Zimmerschlüssel überreicht und wir konnten in unser Zimmer, das wie beschrieben ausgestattet war. Das Team ist sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und konnte uns bei allen Angelegenheiten wirklich gut weiterhelfen. Der hauseigene Strand ist jetzt nicht unbedingt der schönste (vermutlich wegen wenig Wellengang und geringer Tiefe) von Koh Tao, aber mit einem Roller lässt sich jeder Strand schnell erreichen. Wer Bock auf Schnorcheln+traumhafte Strände hat sollte sich unbedingt einen Roller mieten. Die Insel ist insgesamt nicht wirklich groß. Die Wege sind aber teilweise abenteuerlich :) und sehr steil. Am Abreisetag wurden wir auf Nachfrage ebenfalls vom Shuttel-Service zurück ans Pier gefahren. Kurzum es war ein schöner Aufenthalt. Die teilweise in den Bewertungen beschriebene Unfreundlichkeit des Hotelsteams u.ä. können wir keinesfalls bestätigen.

Personal: sehr unfreundlich und lustlos Frühstücksauswahl: begrenzt auf zwei Möglichkeiten Sauberkeit: ...wenn man gerne selber putzt... Lage: direkt am Strand! Schön aber bei Ebbe ist schwimmen nicht möglich (und es ist anscheinend immer Ebbe); Meer könnte sauberer sein! Kosten: viel zu hoch für die gelieferten Standards Tipp: die Zimmer sind schwer zugänglich, klein und dunkel. Man sollte lieber die 400 Baht/Nacht mehr ausgeben für einen Bungalow. Der ist nett.

Positives: - great location, right on the beach. Everything is in walk distance. - great dive shop right by it: you get a discount on your dives for staying in the hotel. - AC worked well ( make sure you stay in the new part of the hotel; we heard the old part was not good at all) - beds were comfortable. Negatives: - the breakfast is from 7 to 10 AM. They do this on purpose because most dives, including the one right by the hotel, leaves at seven. So you actually cannot eat breakfast there. Besides that, it's a set portion per person, quite small I would say. - bathroom could be better - we were supposed to get a discount because we stayed extra nights but for whatever reason we did not get that 10% off - the water from the tap had a very strong taste. We had to but bottle water to brush our teeth. - locals were surprised about the price we were paying for the hotel, saying it was way too much. - internet not very reliable. - gets bright in the rooms very early, basically no curtains.

positiv: -Wasserdruck in der Dusche super zum Haarewaschen! -WLAN funktionierte einwandfrei -für Taucher: viele Auswahlmöglichkeiten an Angeboten negativ: -stinkendes Wasser aus dem Wasserhahn beim Handwaschbecken, aus der Dusche seltsamerweise nicht. -Boden aus Stein aber nicht sauber - eher staubig und mit Brösel oä. -Abfluss in der Dusche nicht ok - Wasser stand und begann zu stinken -Matratze hart wie Beton -eigener "Strand" zu schmal um sich hinzulegen -der Typ an der Rezeption war eher wenig begeistert wenn wer was wollte, beim auschecken um 9 Uhr morgens musste er erst geweckt werden. Anlage ist sehr weit abgelegen, wirklich im letzten Winkel, wäre aber nicht so störend. Solange das Taucherresort daneben keine Party macht ist es auch ruhig. Auf dem Weg zur Hauptstraße befindet sich ein Lokal welches "i love salad" heißt - eine willkommene Abwechslung nach 2 Wochen Thaifood, wirklich sehr zu empfehlen. In 5 Gehminuten erreichbar ist eine Apo, ein 7eleven, Bankomat, Wäscherei, Moped ausborgen, Massage. So richtige Stände zum shoppen eher weniger. Auch ein paar Restaurants sind in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Auch wenn man wenig am Zimmer ist, so möchte man doch, dass es sauber ist und vor allem nicht stinkt. Und man möchte erholt aufwachen und nicht glauben das man über Nacht einen Bandscheibenvorfall bekommen hat weil man sich nicht mehr bewegen kann. Wenn wenigstens das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis stimmen würde...aber leider: NEIN daher KEINE Empfehlung!!!
