Excellent stay

Extremely good service, excellent location and superb room. Very kind and cooperative people at reception desk. I find it difficult to talk about bad aspects. I was very happy and this will be my first choice in case of new stays in Klagenfurt

Alles in allem ist das Hotel sauber, kuschelig und das Personal ein Traum. Unsere Zimmer waren für unseren Geschmack ein wenig zu zusammen-gewürftelt. Außerdem war uns der Geruch nach chemischen/künstlichen Reinigungsmitteln zu stark, hat sich aber bald wieder gelegt. Sämtliche Gänge, Lobby, Rezeption und Co. sind sehr detailreich und mit Liebe eingerichtet. Einziges größeres Manko sind die Amaturen in unserem Bad. Insbesondere der Handtuchhalter und die Duschamaturen fallen einem fast schon ein wenig entgegen. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und stets ausgesprochen freundlich.

Eintauchen in vergangene Zeiten

Mit den vielen Gemälden in den Gängen und Zimmern kommt es einem so vor, als würde man in einem Museum wohnen. Der Marmor, die Stofftapeten und alten Möbel wirken sehr authentisch, nur die paar moderneren, technischen Geräte(Fehrnseher, altes Telefon - aber nicht alt genug für den Stil) trüben das Bild etwas. Der alte Stil ist Geschmackssache, mir hat er jedoch sehr gut gefallen. Für den vielen Stoff und die ganzen Teppiche war es überraschend sauber. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist relativ klein, aber umfasste trotzdem ein paar luxuriösere Speisen, wie Lachs und Honigwabe und bot auch verschiedenes Obst. Das Personal an Rezeption und beim Frühstück war durchweg freundlich und hilfsbereit.

The room was beautiful and also very functional. The breakfast was wonderful with lots of local foods and homemade poppyseed cake many mornings to go with the coffee! The staff were all very nice and helpful, making us feel like we were in their home rather than a hotel. This is a special place in Klagenfurt!

20-21 July Dishonest management and awful smell. We came late and were moved a couple of times due to unfinished repairs and awful smell. Three of us were walking .from room to room. We end up in a stinky suit and had to sleep with open windows. Every time we moved to a new room, a girl from reception gave us an apology and said that the price is the same. Nothing alarming, it's standard procedure in all hotels around the world. We were tired after all day driving but it was ok. The girl was polite and apologetic. She said she was new. But it wasn't the worst part of our stay. After a pleasant breakfast, we were hit with the news that we have to pay almost 5 times the original price. We tried to explain but we were rudely interrupted by lady who appears to be a manager. She demanded the whole payment and threatened to call the police. She was very rude and just repeated we have to pay or she calls the police. She said she had no information about the previous night. So we welcomed the idea to call the police. As soon as the police came price dropped to 1.6 original price. And she demonstrated full knowledge of events of the previous night. So she lied to us through her teeth all the time. We didn't have time to argue and the police advised to pay that reduced price. If you enjoy being yelled at, scammed of your money, sleeping in a stinky room this is the place for you.

Empire vom feinsten. Vollkommen Barock Überladung mit einer ganz eigenen Note. Ein ungewöhnliches Ambiente, zwischen Rokoko und Biedermeier mit ganz vielen Details. Dass dieses Hotel nicht von Japanern (wahrscheinlich zu wenige Zimmer) überlaufen ist, verwundert. Wer also mal eine Reise ins frühe 19. Jahrhundert machen möchte, ist hier vom Ambiente richtig. Das Hotel selbst ist aber als solches vollkommen in Ordnung und entspricht der Kategorie. Steckdosen in den Zimmern sind Mangelware was es für Business-Reisende wohl weniger empfehlenswert macht. Lage ist ausgezeichnet, die Zimmer sind nicht groß, aber praktisch (und auch im typischen überladenen Barock-Stil mit Kristallleuchter und Vintage-Tapete. Alles in Allem muss einem das gefallen.

Ein Hotel wie aus früheren Zeiten, möbliert wie im "Schloss". Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl: Personal äusserst freundlich, hilfsbereit. Frühstück ausgezeichnet. Lage perfekt: Mitten in der Stadt, Tiefgarage gleich nebenan. An diesen Ort kommt man gerne zurück.
