We explicit asked for two connecting rooms which were confirmed at reservation and on the day in the reception. We booked Kieler Rooms as asked. We did not get it and after quite reluctant service at the elderly male receptionist we ended after long talks to get two next to each others which didn’t solve the ask. In general a nice hotel with a great breakfast.

Property and staff were amazing !! Food , accommodations and transport were great. Unfortunately when it came down to the people in public in general the people of Germany were extremely un helpful, they seem to basically not have time to even point the right way. I have traveled the work mostly on work time or military and Germany is a country I will never return to .. so sad. But what a beautiful country ….sorry !!!!!!

Good hotel but disappointing restaurant visit

Relatively good hotel with friendly staff and a quiet location near the harbor and city center.. However, the restaurant was disappointing. We ordered asparagus (as one should do when visting Germany in early summer). It was so overcooked that it was difficult to cut. Would certainly have appreciated my Kiel visit (and the hotel) more if the dinner had been as good as earlier reviews suggested.

Das Hotel liegt strategisch günstig gelegen an der Kiellinie. Es war eigentlich alles vorhanden. Trotzdem versprüht es den Scharm der Neunzigerjahre. Außerdem ist das Parkhaus super klein, somit so gut wie unmöglich einen freien Parkplatz zu erhalten. Parkplätze in der Umgebung sind auch wirklich sehr rar gesät.

Einrichtung der Zimmer sehr in die Jahre gekommen inklusive dem Teppichboden(auch in den Fluren) und keinesfalls einem 4 Sterne Haus wie Steigenberger würdig.Müsste wirklich modernisiert werden. Matratzen sind super bequem,es ist ruhig und mein Zimmer war ein Eckzimmer mit Blick auf den Ratsdienergarten und den Sonnenuntergang. Frühstück habe ich spontan bei Ankunft mit 20% Rabatt gebucht. Es war reichhaltig,lecker und für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Die Atmosphäre im Frühstücksraum war sehr angenehm und ruhig.Das Abendessen wird dort auch serviert und ich muss noch erwähnen,dass alle Mitarbeiter äußerst freundlich und aufmerksam sind und man fühlt sich willkommen und wohl. Alles in allem war der 3 tägige Aufenthalt entspannt.Nach einer eventuellen Modernisierung wäre der relativ hohe Übernachtungspreis für mich in Zukunft ok.
