Convenient, it's by downtown so shopping and dining aren't an issue. It's clean and sheets looked washed, just an issue with some dust on the cabinets. Other than that everything is clean

Liked: Cleanliness
Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The property is clean but requires many renovations. The property is quite deteriorated. The pictures posted do not reflect the condition of the hostel. There is a smell of old building.
It was only a five minute walk from the Ebus station to the hostel.
Mary is awesome. She is competent and friendly.
The place is clean and comfortable. It was quiet.
The only detraction I would say is it didn't have a composting bin. I'm so used to them in Vancouver, I feel badly about putting organics in the garbage.
I love this place, and I would certainly recommend it.

Disliked: Staff & service
Did not stay. Staff refused to let me keep my valuable bike in my private room.
The Amenities are ancient; there is not even a table, the bed sheets are very rough and old, and the quilts are not clean. Worse than a cheap motel but more expensive. Unless you are a backpacker, this hostel is definitely not suitable for families and children. My family was very dissatisfied and had a terrible experience.
This place should not be listed on this site. It isn’t clean nor is it safe. The room I was given was downstairs in the basement and the windows were not to code (couldn’t escape in a fire). Furthermore the musty smell in the basement was dismissed as “the sheets were put on damp”. People not staying there had the code to the building and were in visiting in the middle of the night. No refunds in spite of leaving after one night due to conditions.
The lady who runs this operation, Mary, is sketchy and unworthy of your trust. When checking in, all of our questions or comments were met with patronizing remarks or a dismissive and condescending laugh. We noticed there were no towels, and she told us if we want one they are $5 each to rent. After we checked in and paid our deposit we went out for dinner and when we returned to our room we saw that she (or someone with a key) had entered our room and gone through our belongings. We finally had enough of her and this place that we demanded our deposit back and left to find other accommodations.
It seemed like from the beginning that she didn't really want me to stay there. I had booked it on hotels.com in advance. On my receipt from them it said there will be no extending charges at all. After I booked the room about 4 hours later she texted me saying that she had to charge my car another $28 because she didn't add the room cleaning fees. I was never brought up to me from the beginning so she just went and didn't get it so I got ahold of hotels.com and we found a way back in in like 5th page of the itinerary that it says you can ask for room cleans daiy for that's under my discretion if I want that or not and I didn't never asked for it but they still charged me for it. Next she accused me of smoking in the house when I don't smoke and it just felt like an aura of like this meanness towards me the whole entire time. That was kind courteous respectful just went with the flow didn't get upset about what she was doing. So on my day that I left checked out She texted me about noon and said that she had refunded my my damaged deposit I checked my credit card and loan behold she refunded it and then recharge my card again a $180. I was slabbergast and she's like I don't know how to put it back I can't do that for you it can't be done. So she tried to make it seem like it was a done deal and then I just had to pay it and it won't sleep she felt that I would just give up and just let her take my money or something. So I had to meet her to get it back. It was all stressful.
Just.so.horrible. Imagine you look in an ollld garage, and you see two beds in the dankest and smallest building on the planet. Like a tree Fort with textiles
