"The staff were great and friendly. The amenities like breakfast were nice to have. The 1st day the pancake machine was broken so there wasn't a lot of filling options but it was running the next day. Pool and hot tub were fun and were open 6a-10p which is great. My biggest issue was that the building is outdated but that is absolutely not the staffs fault. There is rust everywhere and the rooms and air unit had a mildewy smell. We also found some garbage under the bed from previous guests. Would love to see some more breakfast options like toast or bagels"

"I came to Salem to attend festivities for my cousin’s 10 year wedding anniversary. The Grand Hotel in Salem, Oregon was grand indeed! I was and I felt like I was in the lap of luxury for four nights. Every staff member I encountered were helpful , friendly, and gracious. I really appreciated that I could check in early. My room was immaculate and spacious, which allowed me to spread out especially at the computer desk to do my business then adjourn to the plush love seat. The use of the swimming pool and jacuzzi helped me sleep very well! Food and drinks at the bar were excellent along with friendly servers. I might add breakfast(s) I looked to. The cool unique part was some elevators were walled with old newspaper articles on Salem’s history which I enjoyed since this is my state capital! Thanks Grand Hotel!!"

"Overall a good stay and in a really easy location! The road noise was louder than usual, but expected for being right off of I-5 and wasn’t so bad that it hurt my sleep. There was staining in my room and the lobby/stairs were a little dusty. Otherwise, amenities were great and everything was well cleaned."
