It’s an older property with signs of wear and tear, but the staff is friendly and efficient. The elevator sounds scary; however, there was a sign explaining that it was safe just loud. I was pleased with the location for the price and for a single night for [yet another] youth sports tournament. The snacks in the lobby are more reasonably priced than a gas station/concession stand, and there’s a nice selection. This is a happy perk for anyone traveling with kids!

Absolutely no issues with the facilities; clean, new, spacious, great rates, cozy lobby area and great little breakfast/area. Only small snag was the unwillingness to put our parties’ 2 rooms close or at least on the same floor, either beforehand or at check-in (after telling me on the phone they couldn’t do it until we were there). We ended up on 2 different floors, didn’t seem at any point that they were ever going attempt to put the rooms close. Would still stay here again!

We had a good stay at the Best Western Independence Kansas City location. -Ms. Katie was awesome. She made check-in super easy after a long drive, she was very helpful with getting us extra towels, and re-programing our key card when it no longer worked for our room. -The breakfast attendant (Sorry, I didn't get her name) that was working Sunday morning made us fell welcomed by engaging in small talk with us. Breakfast was a normal hotel complimentary breakfast - but was still nice and hot. -Our room was clean for the most part, we did see some vanilla wafers in a corner of the room, a random dirty sock near the bed, and a dirty washcloth hanging in the shower. Overall, we had a good stay and enjoyed ourselves.
