"Upon walking into the hotel room, we noticed the bathroom was not clean and when we checked the bedding, the sheets on both queen beds had stains. We were traveling with our son and his family including our 5 year old granddaughter and were not comfortable staying there. We asked for a refund from the front desk and they refused. We left and stayed somewhere else. Neither Riverland Inn & Suites nor Expedia agreed to reimburse us. This was very disappointing. We do not recommend this hotel."
Grandview Motel

"Central location and reasonable walking distance to downtown, felt safe, and affordable. Older accommodations, small room, comfortable bed and pet friendly. Good place to stay in a pinch. Pool was closed mid May but that’s ok, had a decent view of Kamloops from the motel. Check-in was quick and easy, great staff. Would stay again."

"Quiet clean comfortable. Good continental breakfast. Only glitch was we were put in one of the pet friendly rooms on the main floor which though clean retained some smell of dog body odor. We asked and were immediately relocated to a regular room which was very good. Great value."

"Well… if you want budget.. you’re getting budget. Probably wouldn’t stay here again and would just pay the extra cost for something nicer and cleaner."
The Thompson Hotel

"Vintage building that has been well renovated to be clean and modern. So the rooms are a little small, with few reachable outlets, as they were built to older standards. But the modern fixtures are proper, beds are great, and the room fridge was suitably large. The breakfast cafe was reasonably priced, and the food is good, but it is a little understaffed. The small arcade was a nice diversion, but some of the machines need to be maintained/switched out. Pool was good (Hot tub was under renovations during our stay)."

"This is a very old motel that is in stages of remodeling. The room was bright and clean with a great view of the river and beyond. The rate was very affordable. We arrived in the middle of the night and appreciated the young man's willingness to carry out heavy bag up the steps to the second floor. I enjoyed being awakened by birdsong, and discovered the birds were actually nesting inside the exterior siding on the back of the building, which has not been renovated. The in-room coffee was really quite delicious. Some glasses in the bathroom would have been nice. Breakfast was a selection muffins, yogurt and fruit from a bar located in the front check in location."

"I have stayed at this hotel in the past and have had mixed experiences, mostly because the service seems inconsistent from visit to visit. For that reason, we have generally moved our corporate stays and events to the Delta on Victoria Street. This stay was the worst so far. Before arriving, I called to ask whether the pool facility was open and was told that it was. When I arrived, the pool itself was open, but the large plunge pool/hot tub area was fenced off and not working. That was very disappointing, especially because I had specifically checked in advance. I also accidentally left my Birkenstock pool sandals in the room and called back right away to retrieve them. Somehow, they had disappeared, and no one was able to explain what happened, despite the cleaning schedule and cameras supposedly being reviewed. The room safe was also broken, which is concerning when guests are expected to leave valuables in the room. The facility itself is not the worst in the city, but based on this experience, I would be very cautious with personal belongings. This was room 524, upper floor, one-bedroom studio. Book Delta instead, better location, pleasant staff, honest employees. Never had any issues there. Pool and jacuzzi is always open."
