  • I took this photo in Messinia, Greece in summer 2016. It's of Voidokilia Beach and it's surroundings. Voidokilia Beach is on the Peloponnese peninsula and it was the most picturesque beach that I visited during that Greek trip, which was almost exclusively in Messinia. On that mountain is Nestor's Cave and above this are the ruins of a 13th-century Frankish castle (Old Navarino or Palaiokastro). Look closely and you will see :). I didn't get to walk up there. It was brutally hot that day and I spent most of the time at the beach. But, I did make time for some hiking. Near where I took this photo there was a lot of medieval or ancient ruins. Near those beautiful rocks. I had to be careful when walking on them, but it was worth it!

Nice beach resort

We loved this little hotel on the beach, within a short walk to the local town for dinner. The hotel was clean, with lovely staff and a very comfortable apartment leading onto a nice pool.

Wonderful hotel. Quaint town that appears a bit rundown but has a lot of nice places including restaurants. Good beach in short driving distance. Excellent breakfast. Nice Coco-mat bed and pillows which are really comfortable.

This hotel is a hidden gem! The rooms are beautiful, sparkly clean, and the views are heavenly! The beds are extremely comfortable and roomy. The breakfast is wonderful and the staff could have been any more accommodating and loving, and you feel like your family there! We’ve been going there for years and love it so much!

Fantastic hotel.

Great hotel in a remote part of Greece. We had the best stay at Artina Nuovo. Our room was spacious and with modern decor, it had all we needed, including the stunning sunset from the balcony. The pool area was fantastic with new sunbeds and the service was top both at the cafe and by the pool. A little walk from the hotel you can snorkel with lots of different fish. We were very happy with our 5 days at the hotel and would recommend it to everyone.

Schöne Aussicht vom Balkon auf den Pool und das Meer. Die Auswahl beim Frühstück war vollkommen ausreichend: es gab Orangensaft, Kaffee/Tee, Brot/Croissants, Eier/Würstchen und wechselnde griechische Spezialitäten (ebenfalls süß und deftig) sowie frische Wassermelone.

Real hotel was very different from the pictures, the rooms were economy class at best, the pool was extremely salty and dirty. Rooms were clean, but old and beginning to break. Overall, not the best experience.

Great hotel in a quiet town.

Really nice hotel with excellent and comfortable rooms. Staff really friendly and helpful. The town of Marathopolis is quiet and not great for swimming but there are other good beaches 10-20 minutes drive away. This was the best of 4 hotels we stayed in on our 2 week holiday
