"Very friendly and helpful staff. Damiano the host gave great advise on the local area to explore and place to eat. Good breakfast with decent options. Room clean and spacious, a bit cold but A/C with warm air fixed the problem. Only thing I would improve is plumbing (sometimes flush was getting stuck, very loud bathroom extractor and slow drains in the sink and shower) and would appreciate kettle in the room for making herbal tea before bed. Otherwise good stay and would recommend. "

"The location was a short walk to shopping, restaurants, mini-markets and about 10 to 15 minutes to the archeological site. The rooms were small but very clean. The balcony was nice and the bed comfortable. The small bathroom was the only dowside, with the main issue being the shower (small with a shower curtain, difficult to keep water in the shower stall). "We stumbled across this retreat almost by accident and it was the highlight of our trip to Greece. We’ve traveled the entire country and seen the most amazing places but the Ambelona Retreat is in its a class of its own. The pool, breakfast were great. The room decor (like cheap chandelier lights) look out of place and dated. The entry door handle fell off when we closed the door. The biggest issue was that our towels smelled like bacteria-laden dirty rags. Although we were quickly given replacement towels, the smelly ones should never have...
