Great hotel, excellent location, comfortable well-equipped rooms but what made this place special was the staff. Everyone was helpful and sociable, nothing was too much trouble. I would happily stay here again.

Das Hotel ist sehr schön, der Service jedoch äusserst unpersönlich - speziell im Vergleich zur sehr freundlichen Inselbevölkerung - sowie unterbesetzt bei ausgebuchtem Hotel. Das Zimmer (Heritage Room) über der Bar/Restaurant/Küche sehr laut/lärmig. Selbst beim Check-out fragt niemand nach, ob man mit dem Aufenthalt zufrieden war. Abendessen ist sehr empfehlenswert.

Mantis is located in the heart of Jamestown in the tastefully restored buildings that used to be the East India Company’s headquarters on the island. Facilities are new and well-maintained and the staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast in the English style is available in a good variety and excellent quality. In terms of the negatives, the WiFi on the premise is slow and connection is spotty. That said, it is a problem prevalent in all of St Helena, so I guess you cannot really complain about it. A gym will also be a welcomed addition. Overall a very very nice stay.

Gute Lage in Jamestown. Gutes Frühstück. Bequemes Bett. Ein paar Liegestühle auf der Terrasse wären schön. Zur Hauptstraße hört man morgens ab 06:00 täglich die Straßenreinigung. Das ist für Urlaub zu früh. Personal sehr hilfsbereit.
