"Very dated and scruffy. Mould on window wood. Holes in curtain. Toilet needing bleach Soundproofing non existent- could hear neighbours’ conversations and coughing through night. Creaking floors Not a nice experience and half price would have been too much Another 2 people complained about how run down Expedia go and check please!"

"Room very nice. Food good overall although only cooked breakfasts. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening steak night. Downside no private parking. Staff excellent. The village is pleasant to walk round. If staying on the top floor the stairs can be a challenge as the staircase is narrow. "

"I stayed in a seaview room and it did not disappoint If I had complaints, they were minor- I don't prefer small beds, but I knew I booked one & it was cozy & comfy too I am not a small person & the space between the commode & the bathtub was minimal to non existent, anyone larger wouldn't have been able to use the facilities Part of the lack of space was caused by a heated towel rack, which quite honestly, was a very nice touch The tub was fairly wide & deep with jets, but that was the rub, the jets did not work & reaction from staff seemed to suggest the jets hadn't worked in a long time I didn't figure out the shower, but was happy to soak instead, perhaps instructions posted might help Otherwise it was a beautiful hotel with a perfect location & lovely views The staff was very friendly & helpful There was not a lift (elevator), but the gentleman carried my bags up to my room for me so that wasn't an issue either I didn't opt to eat at the bayswell due to time constraints but the food looked & smelled lovely I didn't have a fridge in my room, but the reception staff offered to keep my smoothie in the kitchen overnight so it wouldn't go bad I realized later, I could have also kept it on the window ledge too Was a very nice visit"

"The music was very loud downstairs and we had an early start in the morning. We had no prior warning about the noise and it was too late to book somewhere else. The water flow to the shower was non existant."

"The staff were extremely helpful and efficient. The room was spotless huge bathroom comfortable beds. Hotel is in a beautiful conservation village so lovely views we also had a garden room with easy access to lovely garden and seating to chill with a cuppa. Breakfast was excellent. I recommend Open Arms hotel to anyone visiting North Berwick."

"We stayed two nights with another 4 members of my family. Hotel had recently changed hands. It was a lovely quiet country inn in a small village with plenty of parking. Good pulic room for sitting with family and generally the hotel was very individual. Room had everything we needed including a bath with good hanging space.The manager was very hands on and a pleasant man. The lady doing the breakfast couldn't have done more and everything was freshly cooked and brought to the table. Excellent choice of food for breakfast. We didn't eat in the evening as we were visiting family but menu had a good selection. Had a problem with hot water in bath and sink to which the Manager was very attentive in trying to sort. Had a village shop but not much else but that was what we wanted. Lovely overall stay and definitely would return "
