The road down to the house desperately needs fixed. Deffenetly couldnt get a lowered car down there very well. Its very sketchy. Also not any place really to take your dog out to go to the bathroom. Bed wasent very comfy. Other then that it was perfect

Incredible nice place
Here is incredible nice place to take a rest with family. Especially river side location is beautiful and nearest access for the fishing. Owner is also very kind and friendly. I would like to come back here again in different season.

Actually we never made it to the property because of forest fires! the Owner was great, though, in updating us, in spite of what must have been a heartbreaking ordeal to find out if the cabins were still there. (fortunately yes!)

Nice place to stay
Excellent place to stay. Really comfortable and great views. Randy is great to communicate with and very helpful. A few things to note: Bring your own coffee and filters. They have a machine. There is a very steep drive way down to the homes. Both bedrooms are in the loft. You have to walk through one to get to the other which is a little weird but very manageable. The only bathroom is downstairs.

This is one of the most welcoming homes I have ever walked into. The vibe is inviting and peaceful. The house is so great just the way it is. I wouldn't change a thing!

Location, Location!
This home was in a prime location if you want to see Crater Lake and visit some beautiful waterfalls all in the same day! We loved the location right on the river, It was beautiful. We enjoyed the river and the wildlife, literally steps from the house. Randy went above and beyond To make sure we enjoyed our stay.

Loved it!
Per my teenage daughter - this place deserves an 11 out of 10. I was nervous based on some of the reviews. It seems like people loved it or hated it. Here is what I think about the negative issues: Directions: you will he told to call Randy for instructions. He will tell you the lockbox number and how to find the house. Listen to him! You won’t find it just with google maps. The people complaining about not know how to find it/ get in, must not have called him. Driveway: it is very steep, but definitely doable, even in our rented hybrid sedan. However, I would not want to do it in the dark, especially the first time. Make sure you arrive before sunset. The point of this place is the view of the river, so you should be there in daylight anyway. Decor: yes, it is dated, but well kept and very clean. Kitchen was well stocked, and isn’t that more important than granite countertops? Doors between bedrooms: this a one bedroom plus loft without a soundproof door between the beds. Probably would be awkward for two couples who want their space, but great for a family with kids. Bottom line: we would definitely stay here again. Comfy beds, nice deck, decent WiFi.

Booked two weeks at River Vista vacation homes.Very misrepresented. Was under the assumption it was a three bedroom. Two beds in a loft separated by a folding door and a hide abed in the living room. No internet or phone service. I have me own business and can't be out of contact for two weeks. I only stayed five days and left. Wouldn't stay there 24 hours if it was free.

Great cabin on Umpqua
Staying at River Vista was the best place we stayed in during touring Oregon. We stayed in the middle of 3 cottages and I think it is the best one. The location is extraordinary - it is literally on the river, overlooking a beautiful natural pool which is swimmable. The porch is overlooking the site and sitting there is like watching a nature documentary - we saw a bold eagle, a family of otters, different water birds, jumping fish...and no mosquitos, even in the evening. Plus there's a blackberry galore around the cabin. It is also a very convenient location for exploring Umpqua valley - many great hikes within driving distance. The cabin itself is nice, with fully equipped kitchen. Wi-fi is very weak though, so don't count on it. The only drawback is a rather shabby and sad-looking trailer site between the cottage and the road, but you don't really see it, so overall the place is highly recommendable. I would definitely like to go back there and stay longer than 2 nights.

Beautiful view and right on the river. Three cabins close together, but still private. You could walk out on a large rock on the river. You can hear the creek when the windows are open. Stayed in Madrone which had the largest deck. Upstairs was 1 Queen bedroom with double vented doors and a loft next to it with a Queen bed. Downstairs was the bathroom and 2 pull out couches and a full kitchen. Owner was friendly and informative. Be sure to call him for check in info a few days before arrival.

Great vacation
Beautiful house and the lake ! Access to lake is awesome and you can sit on the rock listening to the sounds of water flow. The water is deep though so no beach type of access for kids to play. House is great except that Wifi doesn’t work. The owner said he is working on it. Other than that, it’s a great vacation home if you don’t really need Wifi. The owner is a nice person. He stopped by and asked if we need anything and answered any questions around the place , house etc

Forest adventurers
Very beautiful river view with nice vaulted high ceilings. Wi-fi wasn't working or the microwave but everything else was perfect. We plan on staying there again in the summer :)

Gorgeous!
The property was absolutely gorgeous. The cabins are cute, rustic and well kept. Randy did everything to make us comfortable. There is a small store very close by in case you forgot anything. The view and access to the river is exactly what we wanted.

Inaccessable property unless you have 4 Wheel Drv
The access road to the property is dangerously steep, narrow, pot holed, and unpaved. Don't attempt without a 4 wheel drive vehicle.... and be prepared for a house that needs major renovation. It is old, dirty, and dingy....

My family wasn't able to stay at this property due to our inability to access the property plus the unkempt condition of property [as viewed from outside]. Perhaps this was due to a scheduling misunderstanding, but we added this stop to our route specifically to stay in this cabin on a river with high hopes, having scheduled it through hotels.com a few days prior to our stay date; But upon arrival, no one was available to let us in, so we scrambled around trying to find someone to provide us with cabin access; Upon scoping it out from the outside back deck, our "just cleaned" cabin's living room area looked like an occupied college student dorm room or youth hostel [which 25 years ago would have been just fine with us], but this caused us to have to drive another 2 hours to the coast to stay at another last-ditch location for the night. Also, the driveway down to the cabin needs to be re-surfaced [potholes], plus no one mentioned that this property is in a serious mobile signal dead zone & that this river front property shares a public trailer park entrance. In short, we did not feel safe pressing on & staying at this location. The Umpqua River area is absolutely beautiful though ..

Home overlooking the Umpqua River
Comfortable, clean home within a short drive to hikes and waterfalls. The patio overlooks the river with great views for relaxing or having a beer with friends. There is a swimming hole just below the home and I suspect it's also a great place to fish.

Beautiful location!
Beautiful setting right on the Umpqua River. Ad says air-conditioning, but there was only one small airconditioner in one room. Lots of kitchen pans, dishes, utensils, etc... We did have to wash them before using however since they felt kind of sticky. We enjoyed watching the River Otter, geese, hawks, and salmon fishermen from the beautiful deck. We enjoyed our stay!

The North Umpqua is absolutely beautiful, inviting, and lush. River Vista is a great place to enjoy it and Randy is a great host. The decor is certainly tired (and even in its day mismatched) but Randy keeps the places very well maintained, clean, and comfortable.
