The staff was top notch and made sure everything was taken care of for us and made the experience that much better. The property is located close to the park entrance which is very convenient. The sounds and feel are very connected to nature. I would highly recommend if you are in the area and plan on doing a safari.
We had an amazing stay here, it really does add to the whole safari experience as you feel completely out in the middle of the jungle. One night at dinner we even heard the warning call of deer nearby that the staff told us meant a leopard was near too, truly a once in a lifetime dining experience.
With this being more of a glamping like experience you do need to be prepared to have some bugs in the room. The bathrooms are also a little bit rough and ready with some signs of wear but again being in the middle of nature this is to be expected and it still does feel like a luxury glamping experience.
The staff and food were brilliant and the dinner setting is one I won’t forget! The location is very private and it really sets up your safari from minute one. Each lodge is incredibly private and not overlooked at all, this makes for a very peaceful escape. It is about a five minute drive from the gates to Wilpattu national park which saves you some extra time in bed for the early morning safari start which is an added bonus.

Hotel would not honour the rate / amenities booked.
At check-in informed they would not provide the amenities (game drive, afternoon tea each day) that were listed in the rate I booked. The manager blamed Expedia.
The manger gave in partially and offered 1 x complimentary game drive, but this was not what we booked.
Additional big negative. Room was also freezing. Asked for a blanket and told none were available - manager had an extra sheet delivered. We were told to wear more clothes if we were cold.
On the positive side, the food was excellent.
Would I stay here again - absolutely not.
