"We stayed at The Emerald Beach Resort from 3/10 through 3/17. From check-in to check-out the staff was fantastic. The grounds were well maintained and our room was clean and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was consistently good and the portions were more than ample. Some of the previous reviews complained about the slow service and they thought the meals were expensive. Yes, the service was slow at times but you’re on vacation what’s your rush. Just sit back have a drink and enjoy the view. The only criticism I had about the restaurant, and it’s minor, is the menu is limited. It would be nice if they would vary it some and maybe have some daily specials. This seems to be an older property and in need of some modernization, Although our room looked like it was recently renovated. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone planning a St. Thomas vacation. We would definitely stay here again."

"The building needs a little help, but the staff level of service and the quality of the food makes up for it, also the hotel is in a great location within walking distance of pretty much everything. "

"I had a great overall experience at this property. The location is excellent, and the staff was friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious my suite was—it included a kitchen and living room, which made it feel very comfortable and elevated. The view was absolutely beautiful, and I really enjoyed the food at the on-site restaurant—it was delicious. I also spent some time at the pool area. Although I didn’t get in, it was a great place to relax and take in the scenery. There was a bit of a downside when it came to cleanliness in the bathroom. I did notice hair from a previous guest in the shower and on the floor, so I ended up doing a quick clean myself. That’s definitely an area that could use more attention. One other thing to note is that there can be a bit of a wait when calling for a taxi, so I’d recommend planning ahead if you’re on a schedule. Overall, it was a really nice stay, and I would definitely consider coming back."

"The views from the property are stunning. There are taxis readily available to take you to any place you want to visit. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is an amazing place to stay!"

"I must say I had a multitude of problems. The first being that the room had roaches. And I found this out in the middle of the night by one crawling at my arm as I was using the restroom and grabbing toilet paper. The TVs in the room do not work. There was one channel that is completely static and that was it. There was Minimal water pressure and No hot water. The bathroom area smells like mold, and the room is only partially renovated. The hotel attempted to adjust the pressure for the showerhead, but it did not get better, we had to bathe from the faucet and splash water on ourselves because I refuse to sit in that roach bathroom.. I asked to speak to a manager. No one ever contacted me to change rooms it was actually no response from them at all. So I spent six days in a room with roaches and no TV while traveling on vacation with kids. The only beneficial thing is that the one staff I spoke to at the desk was polite and apologized about the problem but did not solve them. Ultimately I paid too much money for this hotel to bathe in cold water, have roaches crawl on me, not have a TV and to not fully enjoy my vacation. "

"The best part was the warm welcome from the staff and the beautiful view from the reception/dining area and pool. The room itself was a little disappointing. There was only a curtain to separate the bathroom from the rest of the room, even though the bathroom was literally a few feet from the bed. The location of the room we were in was not ideal because of noise from the parking lot and the kitchen, both of which were busy because of the dinner restaurant."

"The view is incredible. That is the last of my compliments. Hot water ran out after about 6 minutes. The power on the island went out almost every night which is terrible for someone who has to use a CPAP to sleep. It seemed as though all of the units around us had generators. If we had one it was never brought to our attention. We had no way to exit the compound because the gate would only open from the outside. This could be an issue if there is an emergency and you can't get out. We could only exit the gate by standing around and waiting for a car to enter. Another resident told us we should have been given a key fob to open the gate but the host said he had never heard of such a thing. He told us the gate should open by a sensor when you walked up to it but this was not the case. I tried with both the entrance and exit. St. Thomas is a beautiful island with a lot to offer. Find somewhere else to stay. "
