Cascada Boutique Hotel

"We stayed at Cascada in Lucerne for 4 nights. Overall, the location was very convenient to the town, trains, buses, and just walking around to basically everything. The hotel was clean and very functional for our family of 3. The rooms were functional but small. Thats ok because most of Europe has small hotel rooms. The amenities in the room were great such as excellent coffee, safe, and toiletries. The issues we had were that the air conditioning made a loud noise every 15 minutes. It was almost like the unit needed servicing and was about to fail. We didnt tell the staff partly because we were so busy out and about that when we remembered it was too late. The other reason was because the staff at the front desk was not very nice or hospitable. I dont know if its the culture of the swiss or this hotel but any time we asked a question it felt like they were bothered by us or irritated that we didnt already know. Being tourists it only made sense that we would ask about local places or how to go about finding a specific spot. We only asked them a question 2 times, once about booking a trip to the alpes, once about a beach. Both times they gave us information sounding sarcastic. The housekeeping staff was nice and friendly. Lastly, the location of our room faced the front but it was too noisy. When we left our balcony door open we can hear cars, the train and construction going on. Overall I would give it a 3 star for making us feel like we dont belong and the noise."

"This hotel was an easy 3 min walk from the train station. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable although a little warm without air-conditioning, but a fan was supplied. Bed was comfortable. The breakfast had a good selection of fruits, cereals, yogurt, cold meats , cheese, boiled eggs and salad, Tea and coffee was available all day. It was very handy to be able to eat bought in food in the dining room at any time. This was an ideal hotel for our stay."

"Thw staff was very helpful and super polite. We reached early than the regular check in time but still got a prompt service. The location of the property is top notch. I would highly recommend staying there."

"The Lubo is a quick bus ride or walk from the train station. It's not hard to find and the staff at the bar/Cafe downstairs are very helpful. Check in is easy on the phone or the kiosk. The most difficult part is the stairs in the hotel and finding the room. There are a few stairs to get into the hotel and on every floor. Make sure you are not travelling with a million suitcases. I would go scout out your room first. Otherwise, for the price and location, the hotel is great. There's a mini kitchenette that we didn't use and close to everything."

"The hotel is a smaller boutique style building a very safe neighborhood. It has several metro stations nearby and from outside you can the Eifel Tower. There are many seasonably priced cafes and restaurants around the hotel. It is nice, clean, and safe. The staff is welcoming, breakfast was good, and everything was clean. I will stay here again and recommend it to my friends and family."

"Stayed 3 nights at the hotel. The strong points of the hotel are: wonderful view, nice sized rooms and very professional and helpful staff. Also, the free transportation to Lucerne was quick (16 minutes), convenient (30 meters from the hotel entrance) and free. It definately was a bonus. The rooms were a bit spartan and could benefit from some more color and a comfortable chair to sit on inside the room to view the truly spectacular view. We took a see-view with balcony room and the additional cost is very much worth it. The dining was satisfactory+. The breakfast and dinner was solid - but could have been more varied. There is a problem with bees on the terrace area - which takes away from the pleasure of eating outside. The pool was OK. Not really for swimming and the beach was pleasant if small. But, overall - we had a very nice stay and I do recommend the place highly,"
