It was a great stay.

We gave the Wilmington Inn a 5 star rating due to the room being clean and comfortable. Upon arrival the receptionist was friendly and easy to deal with. The hotel is walking distance to nice restaurants. We felt safe at the location. That has not always been the case in some hotels we have stayed.

Works well for our needs

The hotel works great for our purposes. I do wish that the room would be aired out before arrival since it is a bit off-putting when you walk into a musty smelling room. This was cleared up by running the air conditioner but it would be much more pleasant to arrive to a clean smelling room. That is my only true complaint about this hotel.

Overall nice hotel for the price. Could stand to use a carpet cleaner as the floors felt slightly damp/sticky. The”full” continental breakfast left a bit to be desired as they only had a few items and the donuts were like rocks. They did have oatmeal and some packaged pastries that were fresh.

The price for the room was very good, and the staff was friendly and helpful BUT.... the drain in the bathtub was not draining. I borrowed a plunger from the office, hoping to dislodge the clog, but with no results....so we couldn't take a shower unless we stood in the shower water.The room was clean, but everything was very old. The bed covers had cigarette holes. The main room light switch didn't work....each light had to be turned on and off separately. But the air conditioner worked and didn't have any odor, and it was a quick walk to two restaurants, so that was handy. We've stayed in worse places, and we would probably stay there again, but it could sure use some upgrades.

Rude management. Advertised as pet friendly, and confirmed my reservation with a pet. Get to the front desk and there’s “no pets allowed” signs. They ALLOW ME to stay. But then watch/followed me around while walking my dog and the “manager” lived next door kept banging on the walls then complaining my dog was barking

The carpet is disgusting. Had to leave my shoes on and they stuck and made a noise with every step. The tub/shower was mildewy and musty smelling. Definitely needs remodeling/updating. Could hear the traffic and the neighbors....ewwww.

Checked in at 5:30PM, had to wait while the clerk went to determine if our room had been cleaned or not. Length of time spent checking in was unreasonable. TV cable box had to be unplugged and reprogram itself each time the TV was turned on, very inconvenient and time consuming. No lines at all in the parking lot, making for difficult parking.

The Carpets were cut, comforter needed replaced with new ones. First room had gel or something in the sink. Shower water pressure was poor. Air conditioner was good though it blew the curtain out blocking flow into the room.

I was here for an event at WEC and because I was only staying two nights, lodging was limited. I knew this was a cheap hotel and you get what you pay for, so here is the info for others considering. The location was very easy. I appreciated being able to walk over to Bob Evans in the morning and the ample parking space. It's not far from WEC and close to restaurants and places you may want to go. Door must be pulled shut VERY hard to lock when you leave. If you don't double check, you may leave your room and possessions unsecured. You can turn a latch once inside, but there is no secondary lock or chain. Anyone with a key card to your room could fully open your door at night. Someone did knock on my door the second night at about 2am. It wasn't aggressive, and they likely had the wrong room, but it made me very uneasy given the way the door is set up to open directly to the parking lot. Shower pressure is completely non-existent. It was a trickle and there would be no way to shampoo my hair in it. I got by because it was only two nights and I was only spectating at my event, but if I needed to wash my hair I'd have had to go do it at WEC. Conversely, the bathroom sink was like a fire hydrant. Air conditioner blows straight up into the curtains, so tuck the curtains into the window ledge if you want the room to actually cool. Cleaning staff seemed to try really hard. Sheets seemed clean but the duvet/comforter was super old and had cigarette burns.
