"We had a fantastic 4 night stay at the Royal Kona Resort. From checking in to checking out, it was a great stay. All the staff were all very helpful, very polite and always smiling.
Our room (419) was very clean and spacious, with a very comfortable bed. The best part was the outstanding view and just to be able to hear the waves crashing against the shore. Such a restful and relaxing sleep.
I used the well equipped gym regularly. A good range of CV, fitness machines and dumbbells. As well as having a nice pool, the Royal Kona Resort has a lovely little beach/cove area, for sun bathing, swimming and snorkelling.
We ate a couple of breakfasts in the restaurant. What a great breakfast menu. The food tasted lovely and again, lovely friendly staff. As there’s so much choice locally, we went out for evening meals.
Prior to staying at the Royal Kona Resort, we’d had 3 nights over in Waikiki and visited the North Shore beaches. They were lovely. But the local beaches around Kona were outstanding.
Some reviews mention the Royal Kona Resort being dated. Whilst to some extent it may be true. But the hotel clearly states it’s undergoing renovation (this didn’t in the slightest negatively impact on our stay). Again, the Royal Kona Resort is very clean and full of character.
We would definitely go back and without hesitation, recommend the Royal Kona Resort to stay."
