"Marvel's on the Creek is owned and run by Debbie, one of the most amazing people you will ever meet! She is a ball of energy and has the gift of making anyone and everyone feel at home and cared for. My husband and I were surprised to learn that she frequently gets int'l travelers as well, in this hidden gem on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Her property is even more beautiful and peaceful than the photos show. We took out her 2 kayaks for a spin on the creek, and saw herons (have been around since prehistoric times!), and river otters playing. Had happy hour on her back porch to the sun setting, and awoke to a gorgeous sunrise in the opposite direction. It was a 5 minute walk to the nearby Suicide Bridge restaurant. Debbie makes a full on breakfast (eggs, bacon, biscuits, fruit, blueberry bread, hashbrowns) on her lovely china. Spending a night here was a much appreciated break from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Will definitely go back!"

"Everything was good, standard hotel/motel stuff: little coffee pot, mini-fridge, microwave, tv,a/c - everything worked as expected, furniture, carpeting, lights, bathroom all looked newish and everything was very clean. Desk folk were pleasant, didn’t have much interaction. The big plus is the location, right by a huge marina (if you like looking at boats) and the Calvert Marine Museum- combines natural history and the commercial history of the area, has the Drum Point lighthouse (you can tour) and a boat tour of Patuxent Harbor, plus fossils, river otters, fish. Calvert Cliffs / Flag Pond parks are a 10 minute drive if you want to dig for fossils yourself. So: comfortable place, very reasonably priced, close to all sorts of stuff; definitely worth it."
