I think the back of the hotel was the modern part which seemed very nice but we got a room in the front which was probably the old part of the hotel. The back, facing the Ganges was booked but we could use it. So If you book there I would recommend asking for the part next to the river. it looked lovely! Otherwise the hotel was safe and satisfactory for what we needed.
When traveling in India I have learned to not expect much and sometimes you are pleasantly surprised. We were pleasantly surprised with our room at the Aditya in Haridwar. Had a good room with a balcony overlooking the river and lots of hot water. The location is great. The room was quiet. What more can you expect.
We arrived at the hotel to a rude reception and made our way up to a filthy room. Thankfully we brought sleep sheets to protect us from the supplied bedding. All in all, a terrible experience. Avoid this place!
I have stayed at this hotel twice. Once in Apr 2014 and lastly in Aug 2015. I was looking for a hotel which is right on the river Ganga and offering a view of the river and not very expensive. This hotel met my requirements. Even though I am overall satisfied but I think their Ganga facing AC rooms are overpriced for what they offer. The linen was old and of OK quality which you will expect from a two star hotel, but price is of three star hotel. Food from their in house restaurant is good.
