Located in the southern reaches of Singapore, just across from the fascinating island of Sentosa, is the Harbourfront district. The area is currently undergoing regeneration, with plans for it to become a major business and living hub for the city state of Singapore. It is home to the Singapore Cruise Centre, and several shopping malls of note, including VivoCity. There is an MRT station serving the district, so getting to Harbourfront from Singapore’s CBD is relatively simple.

The Harbourfront area is not a renowned tourist site, although there are several attractions that will keep visitors entertained.

The best place in Singapore to watch the latest Hollywood blockbusters is at Golden Village cinemas. With more than 2,000 seats, 15 cinemas and a range of restaurants within the complex, Golden Village provides visitors with the ultimate movie experience.

This district is a great place to be pampered. VivoCity is home to several spas offering a range of different health treatments and body packages. Even though these spots can be quite pricey, tourists will definitely come away feel revitalised.

Just across from the Harbourfront is Sentosa Island. Simply jump on the cable car crossing or a ferry from this district, and travel across to enjoy Sentosa’s many attractions, including beaches, Universal Studios and even a casino. Daytrips between Harbourfront and Sentosa are easy to do.

Dining establishments are mostly situated inside the malls and complexes of Harbourfront. Both VivoCity and Harbourfront Centre contain a range of different restaurants, from high-end sit-down venues to fast-food chains like KFC and McDonalds. The Singapore Cruise Centre is home to dining options too. Beside VivoCity is a large hawker centre. This is a great option for tourists needing a cheaper yet nutritious meal. For nightlife, visitors cannot miss the St James Power Station. This former coal-fired power station is now home to 11 nightclubs and pubs, some of which are Singapore’s most renowned.

Both the Harbourfront Centre and VivoCity are fantastic shopping venues within this district. The newest and most renowned is VivoCity, as it boasts an impressive structural design and the latest in local and world-famous fashion labels. An entire family will have an enjoyable day out here, as there are plenty of food options and entertainment facilities located within these centres too.
