"What a wonderful place to stay! We were delayed in our travels and arrived after the kitchen had closed. The staff were very kind and accommodating and made us a lovely dinner. The food was exceptional! Additionally our room was terrific with a great shower. We will definitely return to do some hill walking nearby. Only wish we had stayed longer!"

"I booked a standard ensuite double room but upgraded to the Tudor Suite. I chose this hotel because it is hundreds of years old, which is something we don’t get to experience much in the USA! "We didn't take up our booking because we were advised by our friends and relatives (one is a member of the local constabulary) who live locally that the hotel is filthy, poorly managed and used more as a hostel for undesirables. We were advised not to stay there, consequently we didn't even see the establishment so cannot confirm whether that is the case."

The room was clean , well maintained & very comfortable . Daily maid service was extremely efficient . We had a problem with the television which was dealt with as soon as we informed the staff. "Friendly and professional staff. Wonderful evening meal (the Halloumi Flatbread was delicious). Good parking, spacious bedroom well appointed. The chilled complimentary fruit juice & water was much appreciated after a 400 mile journey! My only issue was that room 4 was right over the outside seating area and I can only imagine that during World Cup season this could prove to be a problem. As it was I did have the creaking stairs (access for all guests) and loud music blasting from the bar below...
