"A great stay in great location"

"The room has no air com but the hotel had emailed ahead of our stay to let us know and mentioned about bringing a fan. Which was helpful."

"Clean spacious flat although it's on a very busy main road. We booked it because of the garden but it was unusable because it was totally overgrown so nowhere to sit or stand. Another point I would like to make is that for safety we think there should be a hand rail on the stairs as they are quite steep and there is nothing to hold on to. Location is central to going places in the area."

"We had a pleasant stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a short visit. We were surprised with an upgrade to an executive room, which was very spacious. It has a lovely view of the sea. Room has an iron & board, a fan and haie dryer. Easy parking and instructions. Good location to explore and walk to the pier. "I stayed here for work purposes being a short 20 minute commute to Grt Baddow. My work colleague and I were made very welcome. The place was spotlessly clean. Had a lovely bar downstairs for drinks and pub snacks and did a fantastic breakfast in the morning.. I would recommend the full English although there were alternatives, all in all I had a very good stay. I would definitely return to the Oakland if I was working in the area.."

The best choice to spend the time on holiday or sray near the sea, definetly will recommend it and visit again."

"location nice, rooms hot in summer. doors in halls of hotel need cleaning/paint, looking scruffy. Staff in restaurant especially during breakfast inefficient. took more then 30m to get yoghurt served.... other tables with 6 guests were served 2 dishes each in meantime. waitress should identify better the customers i.e. business travel single person or 6 guests on holiday. staff at night waiting behind bar, almost felt like they avoided contact with customer. "Clean and really spacious bathroom. Bedroom had good facilities including air conditioning. Location is really close to the pier and Adventure island"

"The bathroom was dirty, clearly had not been cleaned properly in some time, there was hair all over the floor, dirt build up around the shower tray and shower itself. Windows were also very dirty. The breakfast bag is not worth it as it’s not ready to go you have to wait 10mins for the hot part!"
