We booked a family Deluxe Room at the hotel at it stated it slept 4 people and came with a Sofa Bed and a day Bed. The Sofa bed ended up being a bench that the hotel wanted to charge us for. After confirming that the 'Sofa Bed' was included in the booking they wanted to charge us for the sheets and pillow for it?? The room was really nice, but the information on the booking was incorrect and our older son was not able to sleep on a bench for a few nights. We ended up checking out after an hour and took a loss on the booking as I was not able to get a refund. I booked a hotel down the block that was more comfortable and accommodating.
I was very disappointed with Novotel as the hotel was completely empty and they could have provided us with a room that would have worked for my family. Especially when the booking stated it slept 4 people and came with a Sofa Bed...which it did not. Very disappointed in the service provided.

This hotel is not suitable for families with young children. There is loud music until midnight every day. The backside of the building is partly damaged. The carpark has no proper lightnings and is messed up with a lot of old stuff (motor cycling parking). Inside our apartment there have been a lot of ants. Generally this hotel has seen his best years already and need to be maintained significantly.

This was meant to be a four star hotel but I didnt think it was. First of all, the greeting was awful. It was that bad, I wouldnt consider I had a greet and meet. Staff looks disengaged. There was a smell to the hotel. Rooms were old and wooden floors were creaking. The lift doors could really do with a clean. There isn't much lighting in the rooms or the halls. It was very dim all round. The hotel location as it was near the beach clubs, not only you heard some of the music but you would feel the vibration at night.
Check in and check out was easy and quick though.
Food was expensive than anything at the hotel as expected so I just went outside for food. Even then it is a lot less options than in the centre.
Its meant to be opposite the Ha long night market and I thought there would be food stalls and others but there isnt much so we ended up going to the convienence store.
Overall I would never come back to this hotel. It's like a ghost town.

Hotel outside and surrounding looking good but in the room need maintenance. Water leaking in the taps of the bathroom. Hotel have a distance 1/2 km walking down to the beach inconveniences for whoever not good walking🙂

i could not sleep beacause It was performimg and concert late at night in front of Hotes of City hall park area and Too many kids chatttering in the corridors of the hotel does not take any restrictions
We were given our rooms on the 10th floor. Upon walking out of the elevator, the entire floor was pitch black like a horror movie. We stood there with our phone flashlights for about 5 minutes and still nothing. Started freaking out as a group so went back to the elevator and found a hotel wall phone. Yikes… what an experience! An empty hotel with no greeters or anyone working the front entrance, then a pitch black level to our hotel room. Never again
Excellent staff! I asked for dessert, the first two nights, of my stay, and there wasn’t any. One of the staff gifted me a slice of brownie cake, the following day. She also came to the pool area with hot tea and cookies. My final night there, the kitchen staff sent out dessert for me!

The staff was great but the hotel could use a makeover.
We stayed 4 nights at NOVOTEL Halong bay our stay was comfortable relaxing . Most of staff was friendly & halpful .
Special mention of Ms Trang at reception always go to extra mile to see smile on guest face & staff at time of BF

The hotel room was nice. However the hallways smelled bad. There was a night market across the street that played music till 2 am. It was very loud!! The hotel front desk was kinda uptight and not friendly. Their mixed drinks were like juice, no alcohol. I wouldn’t return

Lovely restaurant on site! Front desk staff was SO helpful! She personally arranged transport to and from Cat Ba island for fair price and make sure it went smoothly. Music can be loud until 12am from party place across the street but would still highly recommend. Clean and beautiful views!

What concerned us was the social distance and observed hygiene with the breakfast buffet. Too many people in small space, kids running and guests talking above the food and touching plates, food etc. We were not comfortable.
Staffs are friendly, food is delicious. Amazing experience!

Overall experience is terrible but I would just say neutral. I guess besides us, only two other couples were staying in the hotel so they completely shut down the air conditioner, the staff was friendly and tried to fix it for our second night but the first we could not sleep as it was freaking hot in our room. I picked this hotel over couple of other for their pool but they shut that down too under maintenance and there was no email notification so I could change my reservation. The breakfast buffet is overpriced for the variety of food we got. Overall we had bad experience and would not stay at this place when we go back again
Hotel and their service were good except for the bed which I felt is too hard. Stayed in quite a few Novotel properties before but this time the bed is too hard for me.

Overall the stay was nice and comfortable.
The hotel prices quoted for bay tours and transport prices were astronomical though.
Almost quadruple the price the other local operators were quoting which seems a bit unfair to the unsuspecting public.
