Great Ocean View

We wanted to be able to sit on the balcony and enjoy watching & listening to the ocean. This property was perfect for doing that.

This is a first class condo. The views are wonderful and the weather was great. The building is very clean. The elevators are glass enclosed so you have a fabulous view while on the ride to your floor. I would definitely return to the San Carlos Condos in the future.

Nice place on the beach but...............

Expedia didn't say that the condo was under renovations for our stay!! Pool was closed, had to bring patio furniture in for the entire stay due to sandblasting and painting, and expedia does not tell you that you have to rent the beach chairs for $25.00 a freaking day!! Bring your own toilet paper also or go buy some while you are there because you get ONE roll!! Another thing that expedia does not tell you is that there is a HIDDEN cleaning FEE!!! Ours was $135.00 for four nights!!! and it must be paid in advance before they will even give you the keys to the condo!!! TV in living room didn't work either!!! The bedroom tv is so small that you can't even see scores of the games!!

San Carlos - Beautiful Accomodations

The nicest condo I have ever stayed on vacation. Beautiful furniture and fixtures, even a chandelier in the bathroom! Prime location to all the shops and restaurants. My wife and I were disappointed with the quality of seafood restaurants in the area. We felt that they were geared more toward large families. Plenty of fried seafood, but forget about a primo Chilean sea bass.

Gorgeous room right on the beach!

The condo was gorgeous! Each room was cleaned and spotless upon arrival. The condo was spacious and really great for a large group.

Great Vacation Spot!

We stayed at the San Carlos Condos in early May. Thankfully, we read other reviews before going so we knew to check in somewhere other than the condos. The check-in is actually at the Kaiser Realty building in Gulf Shores. The condo was easy to find, had plenty of parking right out front, and was right on the beach. Our 2 bedroom unit was clean and comfy and had an amazing view from the 11th floor. The beach was clean and it was a short walk from the condo on a nice boardwalk. Our 2 year old was more interested in the pool so that's where we spent most of our time. The pool was large and clean and we had it to ourselves the majority of the time. Early May is a great time to go to Gulf Shores as it was not crowded at all! We hit the restaurants early (around 4:30-5) and avoided any crowds. FYI, extra toilet paper is not provided. Be prepared to buy your own if you need more than 1 roll. We also bought paper plates so we wouldn't have to wash as many dishes. There is a washer/dryer/dishwasher in each unit which is great! We would definitely go back to Gulf Shores and the San Carlos condos again.

great family or couples place

Great location and view. Totally comfortable. Easy parking and beach front access. It needs a few items. A blowdryer more pillows and dishwasher and washer soap.

BEWARE OF THE CLEANING FEE!

Beautiful condo, excellent location. I was very put off by the cleaning fee, and from reading other reviews, I'm not the only one. I understand the place actually needs to be cleaned between guests, that fee needs to be included in the price, and not be a hidden cost, or a surprise cost, as was the case with me. I booked through hotels.com, and I talked with them, and they said that this was NOT a common condo practice. Anyway, to add insult to injury, I was told to take the trash out and do any dishes before I left. So, what did I just pay 130 dollars extra for? To those who are still reading, please understand I'm not trying to be petty. The place was beautiful, and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The view was spectacular, and it was in a great location. I would not even have minded if they would have just jacked up the price an extra 40 bucks a day and not told me. I would have been blissfully unaware of the situation. But, the extra fee thing just rubs me wrong, just like paying an extra 50 bucks per bag to fly does.

Beautiful view and location!

This was my first time renting a condo. There was not adequate instructions on where to check in and receive keys until I arrived at 1am and called the 1-800 number. Then had to drive back to the rental company location to get the keys after arriving late that night at the condo. More instruction would have been very helpful. The condo was very nice though could have been a little cleaner for my taste. Also, having more than 2 rolls of toilet paper for a 4 day stay would have been helpful.

Great family location right on the beach

The location, superb!!! Right on the beach! Within walking distance or short drive to dining and shopping so more time could be spent enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Gulf Coast. A few issues, the blinds in the master bedroom were missing slats and the sleeper sofa was missing springs which made for an uncomfortable night. But after an early morning phone call a repairman can out to fix these. Also, the tv in the 2nd bedroom went out and the washing machine stopped working. Again it only took a phone call and a repairman was there within a short time to replace the tv and repair the washer. Great customer service. We will definately be back!!

Wonderful place to stay.

I went there for quite and relaxation even over the holiday. It was perfect for what I wanted. I loved eating breakfast on the balcony listening to the surf.

Condo-beautiful beach view

This condo is in the perfect location to surrounding things to do and right on the beach. Beautiful views from every balcony! However, we were only given one towel each for our 4 day stay and each bathroom had 1 roll of toilet paper. The furnishings were nice but the carpets were really wore out and stained. The company randomly changed the locks one day while we were gone and left new ones under the mat which was very distrubing to us and left our things vulnerable while we were gone all day. One of the beds was broken and the master shower lacked a shelf to set shampoo and things on. Most problems were minor and since there is not an actual hotel staff you have to fend for yourself on some things. We paid over $100 for a cleaning fee and they still expected us to load the dishwasher and take out the trash?? Anyway great location and wonderful relaxing views!! I would probably stay again but I am sure there are some better deals maybe just not as good of locations!

Had a great time

The condominium San Carlos 502 was wonderful. Expedie was very easy to book with. I have never had a bad time booking with Expedie thats why i always book with you. Your prices are always the best and you give a lot of info about everthing The Only problem i had was with Resort Quest. The were so nice when we check in, i dont think thats the problem. It was our frist time there. I only wish Resort Quest would of given us more info about San Carlos. Like where you should park. There are signs saying park across the street. Didn't know what to do so we called. No one said go to the second floor elevator and there will be carts to help you get your stuff up to the condominium.No one toll us about the 3rd floor, where the lobby was. We just happen to stop there when someone wanted to get on.They really need to tell you what to do if you lock yourself out of your condominium, because thats what happen to us LOL. Thank God it was the night before Christmas Eve. We went to the lobby floor # 3. to look for a #. We found one, he said HE couldnt help us. we were to call Resort Quest.The guy at Resort said it would be 35 min. to get there. WHAT There should be someone close by or on site.The person that was there on site felt bad for us and did help us.Only took 5 min.But who cares the beach and condominium was great. We will for sure back to the San Carlos 502. We drove 15 hours to get there, and loved every min. of it. Sherri P

Condo in Gulf Shores- Right on the beach

I really enjoyed my overall stay at the hotel. My only complaint is that we had to pay a pretty steep cleaning fee when we still had to wash and put away dishes and take out the trash. The location was perfect.. There were a lot of restaurants really close to the hotel. Every Condo is a beach front condo. The beach is right at your finger tips. The entire condominum is clean and comfortable. Parking was convinent. We will definately stay here again.

Why no recommendation?

Although the hotel was comfortable, I am very uncomfortable with the addition of a cleaning fee. What really disturbs me is the fact of paying the fee while having to leave the dishes clean, take out the trash, etc. I felt like I actually had to pay them to clean up the room....Go Figure! Next time I'll opt for a hotel that includes the cleanning fee and actualy cleans up! Thus, no recommendaion from me.
