Excellent property – rooms, grounds, restaurant and service – with gorgeous views of the sunrise and sunset from the rooms. Staff were superb; a member of the party experienced a bad fall – without prompting, the staff did everything to make the remainder of our stay as comfortable as possible. Definitely a great place to stay.

Wrongfully Charged for Extra Person, Rude Service

Worst hotel and rudest customer service in 25 years We were wrongfully charged for meals for an extra guest ! The hotel at Pelling said they couldn’t do anything abt it. So I called and emailed the Elgin main customer service at Kolkata couple of times. They were extremely rude, and hung up on me the first time, just after 3 minutes. I called hotels.com requesting a refund of the extra charges. Hotels.com agreed with us but the Elgin (Ms. Sonali) denied us any refund. I emailed the Elgin but they simply did not respond. Don’t book this hotel - we got NO view of the Kanchenjunga. Many hotels in the area falsely claim to offer views of the Kanchenjuna.

スタッフは素朴で善良。 総じて垢抜けてもいないし、おしゃれでもないが、カンェンジュンガを眺めるロケーションは抜群。 シャワーのお湯の出は2人連続使用でも水にならなかったし、水力が弱いというわけでもなく合格点。 エアコンではないが、少々音の大きな温風暖房と湯たんぽで寒さを感じることなく快適に過ごせた。 建物も家具も古いがきちんと掃除され、大切に使われてきたことがわかる。 朝夕の食事はビュッフェ形式で、スープと飲み物が別にサーブされて、カレーが7種類ほどとナンやご飯、サラダやフルーツデザートと一通り揃っていて美味しくいただいた。 有料でも空港からの送迎サービスはないそうで、バグドグラから6~7時間、車の手配は別に行う必要がある。 距離的に何でそんなにかかるのかと思っていたが、国境でのビザの取得や未舗装路が多いためにスピードは30～40ｋｍがせいぜいだし、道路工事渋滞が頻繁に起こるためにたっぷり時間がかかってしまった。 近代化されつつあるシッキム州のまだ純朴な魅力を味わうことのできる内に訪れることをお勧めする。

WODERFUL STAFF

THE VIEW OF THE HIMALAYAN PEAKS FROM THE HOTEL ROOMS AND GARDENS IS ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING. THE FOOD IS VERY GOOD AND THE HOUSEKEEPING AND RESTAURANT STAFF IS COURTEOUS AND WILLING. THE HOTEL CAN CONSIDER CHANGING THE WORN OUT MATS IN PUBLC SPACES AND KEEP A SMOKERS CORNER OUTSIDE THE MAIN ENTRANCE TO PRVENT SMOKERS FROM LITTERING THE SPACE.

Simply the best

The hotel & staff are simply the best. Mr. Rao, the Manager at the hotel was extremely caring - ensuring my ill-health was attended to and he literally nurtured me back to health! They even gave us a packed breakfast for early morning departure. The hotel is an experience worth the money. The food however could be improved - cuisine is mostly only North Indian food! Some good continental cuisine to match the ambience would make the stay perfect.

Had a good experience with the hotel staff, especially Mr. Rao who was proactive in terms of hospitality (helping booking a cab, packing breakfast early morning) The part I found not so good: 1. Room (including the bathroom) was very small 2. The food quality needs improvement 3. Well maintained but got a damp feeling overall Hence, the average experience of my stay

Different hotel at good price

It was a excellent hotel with extra ordinary view and surroundings. very peaceful and calm surrounding and good hotel for resting. we will give only 40(out of 100) for customer friendly reception.the food was good, problem with the gyser but sorted out next day, I do not know why these non ac hotels on the hill top do not have fans? geyser was provided. rooms were good and still love to stay again. No jet spray with w.c.

OK Hotel, Cold Rooms

The views are great as long as it is not foggy/hazy. We had a few problems. When we arrived at the airport, the transportation we arranged through the hotel was not waiting for us. We ended up waiting for an hour trying to figure out where the driver was. Then we finally had to walk with all of our bags out to the parking lot in front of the airport. Poor communication by hotel management. The drive to the hotel was 5-6 hours on a windy single lane road. When we arrived, our queen/king was actually two beds pushed together because they have no larger beds. The room was cold every night, even with the small heater in the room. We asked for more blankets, but management said they do not provide them. The food at the buffet is often cold. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.
