Paulo is an excellent host, our room had spectacular views, the sunrises were breathtakingly beautiful. Our apartment was presented perfectly with everything we needed and more. When and if you need Paulo is on hand to help and really is the fixer of Madeira. Check his restaurant recommendations they are spot on. Would we go back, hell yeah, planning it already

We stayed 4 nights at Belvedere Boutique and had a very pleasant stay. We had a very friendly welcome and instantly fell in love with the view. The fan in the room saved our nights, which were quite warm. For others, thinking about booking: keep in mind that the walk down to the city (marina area) takes about 40 minutes and is a little steep. To get home we usually got a taxi (7-8€) since the busses were always really full. A big supermarket and some places to eat are available in 5-10 min. walking distance, even though walking there sometimes was a bit adventerous because of some funny people hanging around… nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay at Belvedere Boutique in Funchal.

Toll eingerichtet und ein wunderbarer Ausblick auf Funchal. Gut gelegen sowohl für Ausflüge in die Stadt als auch mit dem Auto zur Erkundung der Insel. Sehr zu empfehlen! :)

Muito bom! Vista mar!

Mukava, rauhallinen, pieni majatalo (seitsemän huoneistoa, meillä superior huoneisto). Meidän huoneistosta ihana näkymä Funchalin keskustaan ja merelle. Alueella myös paikallista asutusta, joista kuului hieman kotieläinten ääniä. Alueella korkeuseroja, jotka saattavat vaikeuttaa joidenkin liikkumista. Lähistöllä paljon palveluita (kahvilat, supermarket, leipomot, baareja, lihakauppa, hedelmäkauppa). Takseilla hieman vaikeuksia löytää perille (osoitteeksi annoimme viereisen hotellin). Siivous kaksi kertaa viikossa.

Der Inhaber ist sehr freundlich und stets bemüht alles für das Wohl seiner Gäste zu tun. Die Unterkunft ist sehr sauber und mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und dekoriert. Der Ausblick vom Balkon aus auf Funchal ist wunderschön. Das Zimmer mit Terasse besitzt einen schönen angelegten Garten. Vor der Unterkunft kann man auch ohne Probleme einen Mietwagen parken. Fußläufig ist ein Supermarkt, Apotheke und Bushaltestellen erreichbar.

Paulos apartment was spacious, with large, airy rooms with a spectacular view of Funchal at night! Away from the main city, you could walk down the hills to Funchal center and restaurants, but returning, I would recommend Uber. Large market is within walking distance, with some area restaurants. Quiet with a lovely small garden. Paulo was available and very helpful to us, a wonderful host. Excellent stay away from the busy city.

Beautiful Relaxing Stay

This place was great. They allowed for an early check in which was much appreciated. The view was gorgeous and overlooked the sea and city. It was very clean and a short walk to the bus station although a taxi into the city center was never more than 12 euros. Far enough out of the city that you'll have a peaceful stay but close enough to be convient. There is a mini fridge, dishes, and a kettle which economically allowed me to eat a few meals in the room. Supermarket is a 10 minute walk max. To enter a room you must go through 3 locked doors/gates which made me feel very safe as a solo female traveller. It has the quaintness and friendliness of a BNB with the privacy and convience of a very nice hotel.

Agréable séjour dans cette résidence charmante. Les plus: confort, belle vue, lieu calme, stationnement dans la rue facile, belle décoration, propreté impeccable, jardin charmant. Les moins: mauvaise insonorisation, il manque les condiments de première nécessité qu'on espère trouver dans ce genre de location (sel, poivre, huile...). Globalement très satisfaits de notre séjour dans ce lieu. On s'y sent bien.

Scenic Views across Funchal

Excellent apartment, great views across the city with a helpful host. It's a long walk up but there's plenty of bus routes and it's a lot easier on the way down.

Property was very nice with great views of Funchal and the mountains. Very clean and spacious. The only thing I would like is more another wardrobe as there is only 1 single for 2 people. Paulo was very helpful and has a great knowledge of both Funchal and Madeira.

Very clean and quiet stay. Only suggestion would be to install an AC unit or screen in window. It was very warm to sleep and only solution was to open a large window which had no screen. Got bitten by a couple mosquitoes during my stay, which thankfully at the time I did not have to worry about diseases. This is something an international traveler does not want to have to be concerned about. Would rate lower if everything else wasn’t perfect.

Sehr schönes Anwesen etwas ausserhalb des Zentrums. Wir hatten ein geschmackvoll eingerichtetes und geräumiges Zimmer mit Kochnische sowie sensationeller Aussicht über Funchal bis zum Meer. Gastgeber sehr nett und hilfsbereit, Ein- und Auschecken unkompliziert. Parkmöglichkeiten vor dem Haus. Grosser Supermarkt mit langen Öffnungszeiten in Fussdistanz, auch ein bei Einheimischen beliebtes Restaurant befindet sich dort. Sehr Empfehlenswert!

Top für Paare für einen individuellen Urlaub

Herrliche Lage mit Blick über Funchal. Den Sonnenaufgang kann man direkt vom Bett aus beobachten. Sehr netter Vermieter, der auch immer einen Tipp für Unternehmungen, Restaurants etc. hat. Alles sehr sauber und gepflegt. Parken an der Straße vor dem Haus kostenlos möglich. Fußweg zum Zentrum etwa 15-20 Minuten, zurück dauert es allerdings wegen der Hanglage länger (Taxi zurück etwa 8-10€]. Cafes, Restaurants und Supermarkt in der Nähe zu Fuß erreichbar. Küche vorhanden, haben wir aber nicht genutzt. Uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert.
