Misleading photos: The photos shown on Expedia do not reflect the current condition of the property. The lodge is nowhere near the state presented in the pictures. These may be photos from when the place first opened, but at present everything feels old, worn out, neglected, and in clear need of major renovation. Interior & cleanliness: Upon entering, the overall impression is not pleasant. The furniture, floors, kitchen, and bathroom are heavily worn, which creates a general feeling of uncleanliness, even though I believe basic cleaning is done. However, the cleaning itself is careless – dust has accumulated in corners over a long period of time, and the refrigerator was dirty upon arrival. On a positive note, the bed linen and the shower were clean. Wi-Fi & services: The Wi-Fi is unreliable – sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. The reception is not operational; check-in and check-out are contactless, which would be acceptable, but combined with the lack of maintenance and support, it adds to the feeling of neglect. Outdoor areas: The outdoor area has a lot of potential and could be very pleasant, but it is currently poorly maintained. With some basic care and upkeep, it could become a really nice space. Value for money: The price is completely unjustified given what is offered. Considering the misleading photos, the overall condition, and the level of comfort, the accommodation does not deliver value for the price paid.

Nice little road side lodging. No problems outside of the a/c unit making a ton of noise and the shower that was little more than a drop at a time. Other than that was a nice place to stay.

Appreciate walking into the smell of clean. Cute concept with the vintage vibe. Beds are super comfy . You have hot shower amd a new working heat and AC system. All the important things to make a cozy stay. Understand when you rent that these are old and primitive buildings , but have everything you need to sleep cozy. Also, bring house shoes and leave your shoes at the door to avoid tracking in devil thorns . This just comes with TX visits.

TV doesn’t work, bathroom sink leaks on to the floor, no light outside the door, and no light in shower. Office is closed and no one answers the phone or returns message. I’m leaving to find a different hotel and DONT expect to pay for this room!

Basic Rustic Vibe

Office was closed when we arrived to check in at 3 pm. Luckily a property attendant showed up to get our key. No one gave us an overview of the property, so we were not made aware of shared amenities. One day our room was not cleaned even though we put a maid service sign on the outside door. Rooms come with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and Dish network TV. AC fan speed was a little underwhelming.We had to keep hitting the Turbo setting to cool down the room.

Cute but definitely needs updating!

Place was cute but not well lit. We arrived at night and couldn't find our room. There were picker bushes all over the place. Place was nice and clean but definitely needs some updating and some modernization. Bathroom way too tiny. Ok if youre a midget or a small person but other than that very small. No parking places so we just parked outside our room. I sure hope that was okay. I dont think I'll be back here again. It was okay for one night.

Although the Antelope Lodge was Definitely Retro 1950’s Vibe ….. It Needs to be Better Kept and More Comfortable. The property NEEDED the Courtyard Grass Mowed and sprucing up. The clerk had No Personality and Offered No information other than our room # and that the door locked behind us. The Bed was Horribly Uncomfortable and very low to the floor. The bath Linens were Nice. Retro Refrigerator & Microwave were nice. Coffee in Room was Enjoyed. AC Worked Great. Bathroom is Tiny but Manageable even though you had to sit on Toilet Sideways. Biggest issue was No Rest due to Uncomfortable Bed 😩. Should have cost less for what it is. Wish it was Better Kept and Bed was Better. It was like going back in Time.

A definite pass.

Started the moment we opened the front door finding 3 dead cockroaches on the floor. The place needs a complete renovation. We were afraid to sit down on the furniture. As soon as we woke up we hit the road, no way were we taking showers in that room. I am still recovering from the bug bites.

The little things.

Check in is easy and fast, the room is quaint clean and quiet. Our cabin was #22 toward the back of the property, we could not see the courtyard. Enjoyed the peace and quiet clean and comfortable bed. It felt like an Air B&B. The porch had dusty chairs and the grass was way tall, needed to be cut. If we had been staying longer it would have made a big difference, There is a barbecue grill and picnic table, but then again tall grass and weeds at the time we went would have made a negative rating. Even though our check in was brief, the desk clerk could have told us where the ice machine was, and if we needed anything to let us know contact info etc. the room did have a laminated sheet with info who to call. The remote control to the tv was different, my husband had to reach above and turn on the box for the signal. At check in I noticed a stand up cooler where some alcoholic beverages were available to sell. I guess, the clerk didn’t expound on anything he just handed us the key and gave us directions to the cabin. There are twin lights on each side of the bed, one light was out. Overall the stay was a nice cozy room and very comfortable beds. ps. Because it is an older court. You do have to allow the water to run awhile before you get hot water. Not complaining just informing. lol.

Old property, old fixtures. None of that really bothered me or was uncomfortable. What made the stay unenjoyable was the noise the mini split AC made. A loud hum/whistle that would not go away. We tapped on the case, adjusted the air flow and fan direction, but nothing worked. Had to get up in the middle of the night and just turn it off it was so loud. Couldn’t sleep until it was off, and then only until it got hot again.

Nice little room with great deco.

What a nice little room i got. Loved the deco and the green fridge. Only minus was the noise from the nearby road, but they provided earplugs so got my sleep anyways.

Only place I will stay in Alpine

Absolutely loved my stay here! If you are looking for a 5 star hotel then this is not your place. If you are looking for a retro, clean room with hot water and a/c then look no futher. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable.
