"As we arrived to check in the lady was lovely and took us to our room and explained if we needed anything to let her know, which was a lovely. The room was unique as it is in a pub and it did have an en-suite with a shower. The only down side is the sink is low down and you can hit your head on the shelf that is attached to the mirror. We did not try the breakfast But overall we had a great stay."

"Good hotel and comfortable bed. Had cancel the second night as the hotel was closed. Access for an 81 year old was very difficult. Lots of stairs to manage. The very cold weather made it even more difficult. The manager was very good and helpful. We hope to get a refund for the second night. The location was excellent and the pub was very quirky and quite special. "

The only reason we stayed there was so the wife can rest at the pool with the baby. - Restaurant food was pub quality but Michelin price. - "Entry" to breakfast ends at 9:30 not 10 as advertised. "We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chestnut Tree. Lisa, the host was the main reason, she is a great communicator which is important when booking. She was so very helpful with local information and incredibly kind. Our room was beautiful and the amenities in the bathroom delightful. The area is beautiful but with only one night, we didn’t get the change to do much exploring. Next time. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful stay."

"Our Cosy Double was as advertised -small but well furnished and equipped with everything you could need. It was very clean. We had a lovely view of the extensive gardens. The breakfast was delicious, plenty of choice and freshly prepared and great service too. We also had a meal in the bar and that too was very good. The gardens are delightful and we walked around them many times and it was a real bonus to have several sightings of the deer. A small negative was that we had not realised that...
