"Very pet friendly"

"When we arrived to check in the room was not ready. Turns out they were not even aware of our booking until we showed it to them. We then had to wait two hours whilst the owner came to the property to get the room ready. Waiting outside in the side proved to be a disaster as their outdoor table and chair was covered in a black bitumen type substance that got all over the bottom of my trousers and completely ruined them. "We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay in this almost 8 century old hotel with Alice in Wonderland maze of hallways, tilted floors and lichen/moss encrusted roof tiles. Location is perfect, rooms quiet/clean, beds comfortable, staff kind and welcoming. "

"A clean and comfortable room with all we needed. Parking was convenient and staff were friendly and helpful. Also helpful having a restaurant on-site and it was just a short walk to the cathedral and other sites."

"Howfield Manor is a really lovely hotel. Quite a unique venue. The staff were so helpful. This is my second time at the hotel yesterday was for sisters Celebration of Life. We were in the marque which was beautifully laid out, the food was extremely good and the staff were very helpful. We had a lovely room which was very clean and we had a superb view of the gardens.
