Loved this place!

Wish we could have stayed for more than one nigh. We loved the room, beautifully decorated!

Convenient to town.

Enjoyed the stay. No breakfast provided but did have coffee in room. Bathroom small.

Not fancy but reasonable value

Near "downtown" Floyd, so fairly convenient, although a bit too far for an easy walk. Room decor was tired and worn. Our room was spacious and price was fair.

Not such a haven!

The saving grace was a good Italian restaurant just behind the lodge. Very basic,small tv,fridge up on a stand with microwave on top Tiny bathroom as well as tiny towels!

Live like the locals

Lovely stay in authentic accommodation. Rural but good wifi tea/coffee fridge and microwave. With seating outside room on the porch.

Really enjoyed 1 night in Floyd

The Oak Haven Lodge had so many special touches with respect to service, decor, amenities, and entertainment. With respect to (WRT) service someone actually called to confirm my reservation 4 days prior to my date of arrival. Also, hotel owner was patient and helpful. Décor was tasteful and you can tell the owner cared to make the place appealing. The Oak Haven Lodge had a FREE book closet. WRT amenities, our room had a nice king size bed (firm w/a very nice memory foam top), a Jacuzzi tub in addition to a full bathroom, a large mini-refrigerator, microwave, small TV w/cable, table w/2 chairs, and a solid wood chest of drawers and night stand. If you need large flat screen TV, then look elsewhere. WRT entertainment, the small town of Floyd (1 mile away) is gorgeous; you can tell the town really cares to make a special place for the locals (and outsiders). It was so much fun, live blue grass music in many establishments (an ice cream parlor & bakery; a retail store, several restaurants).

Nice lodge

It was a little hard to find, but it was my first time there. It's a bit secluded, which is actually nice. The main office was a house across the yard from the lodge. The lodge was nice, stairs were wide and the place looked well built. It snowed the night I got there and there was snow to deal with when I woke up the following morning. I received a call and the woman at the front desk was pleasant and helpful. There was a black cat outside that was following me as I brought my things to my room. I thought it was cool and funny because the cat wanted to be petted. Some people might have a fear of cats or black cats, not me. Will I come back here, maybe. Possibly during a time of the year where I could sit outside on the upstairs deck and enjoy the outdoors without freezing.

Surprisingly Pleasant Stay

I'll admit I was nervous about the prospect of staying in Oak Haven Lodge, but after all, it is Floyd, not DC, so I knew I'd have to keep that in mind when I arrived. Yes, you do have to check in at the back of the house next door, but once you figured that out, it was fine. In fact, they have a hot tub "Oasis" on the other side of the house that is absolutely unbelievable. My husband immediately asked about it and booked us for an hour in paradise at 10PM that night. It was amazing. They had lights strung over the tub, and a fire pit lit, and scented candles. And it was very inexpensive. The hotel room itself was simple, but it appeared to be clean and we actually warmed up to the rustic log-cabinesque feel of the place. There was a table and two chairs in the room, where we enjoyed a small picnic that we brought with us. We can't wait to go back!
