"After a comically horrible experience booking with another local inn that didn’t bother to inform me that the city had shut them down prior to arriving for our stay, my partner and were left scrambling to find alternative accommodations for our stay in Eureka. Despite the initial nightmare of arriving to an abandoned property after a long four hour drive, The Carter House Inn was luckily there to save the day with an available room, and not only completely saved our trip but ended up making it all the better. The check in/check out process was seamless and the amenities were abundant, and we couldn’t have asked for a more warm, friendly, and personable touch like the treatment we received from Troy and the entire Carter House team. I will definitely be staying there on a return visit in the future."

"This was a very good motel like set up. The front desk was beyond helpful at check in- the place was spotless. There is a cannabis dispensary around the corner and smells waft over do if that offends you you might not like it but it doesn’t bother us! The pool area was great and everything maintained well."

"This beautiful and historic hotel was definitely a disappointment. The only staff we ever saw was the single desk clerk, The room had few outlets, and lacked typical amenities. Upkeep was quite lacking and the breakfast was typical cheap motel fare. I love quirky old hotels, but wouldn't stay in this one again nor recommend it to others. The corporation that owns it needs to invest in it or sell it to someone who will."
