Always like to book a night or two here to enjoy walking the downtown area. Conveniently located right across a main train station, easy to access. Surprisingly quiet for a middle of the city hotel.

Mercure hotel Bochum

The hotel is very near the main station which is great for getting about. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had a large choice. The area itself is very nice with lots of cafes.

The staff here is very friendly and nice and helpful. The breakfast is good. The rooms are clean and nice. The bed / pillows are not the most comfortable and the shower is outdated. I would stay here again though. Big rooms and always clean

Beautiful hotel, poor vibes.

Beautiful hotel, spacious & comfortable room, perfect location and spotless clean. The man who did our check in was very nice & helpful, but in general, the staff & atmosphere were pretty cold & distant. The restaurant & bar were closed 2 nights out of our 3 and the lobby lights were dimmed ..no visible staff at the reception, so the hotel felt empty & deserted.

Breakfast buffet was great! One of the elevators was not working which made elevators in the morning a slog. You can use the emergency exit stairs, but be warned that they route you outside. The stairs near room X08 drop you fairly close to the front door. The other stairs send you to the loading dock on the back side. :) Room could have used a bit more light at night, but was workable. The step into / out of the shower is big! Americans be warned. :) Otherwise the shower was very nice. High flow. Good hot water. We were there for Essen Spiel. There weren't great options for game playing tables. A friend was staying at the Garner IHG hotel in Bochum where the restaurant was welcoming to late night gaming and had good tables and good food/drink service.

Perfect spot to experience Bochum

Everything is in a walking distance and the hotel is a nice and quiet escape from the town’s busy center. All the town’s sights, shopping and restaurants are just some steps away. Vegan options in the menu and at the breakfast were a nice bonus!
