Kairaouine Mosque, Fez, Morocco. One of the largest in Africa, and among the oldest universities in the world, the mosque dates to the year 859. It's an incredible, ornate jewel of a complex located in the center of the dark, dirty, chaotic old media of Fez. They open the doors to allow tourists a peak inside. Also, great opportunities for pick pockets to make some cash! My iPhone was stolen from my shoulder bag while taking this picture. I was too distracted by the amazing decor!
