A truly wonderful Anniversary stay at the Roseate Edinburgh. Couldn't recommend this hotel, it's staff and the quality of its' meals and service more highly.

The hotel is stunning, although we were placed in the building across the road, but our room was beautiful and cozy nonetheless. The only complaint is that we were able to hear noises from the adjacent room, we were woken up by the sound of running water in their shower and grunting noises. So, better soundproofing is something that the owner of Roseate should consider for the future.

So many things made the Roseate feel welcoming. The tea set up & shortbread in the room, towel heater, all the good things.

Rooms, food, staff, top rate. Simply note that the property is a couple of miles from center city … but accessible walking, taxi, bus.

An absolute delight.
Gorgeous hotel. Room was beautiful, thoughtful, and so comfortable I was able to really rest and unwind. Bathtub was divine. The restaurant is excellent, convenient, and accommodating. The location is quiet and convenient by foot, tram, or taxi. Service was excellent- ask Fraser to suggest your whiskies. Will look forward to staying here again.

I had a great time at the Roseate Edinburgh! The physical property is beautiful inside and out. The breakfast in the dining room was excellent. A bus stop right outside leads right to the city center.

Pictures are deceiving - you will not stay in the room you may envision or what is pictured on their site. We ended up in their “spillover” room which equates to a dark and dingy DUNGEON roughly 9 ft. x 9ft. Our carry-on luggage was placed in front of the only door due to lack of space. And the bed was tiny - my husband’s feet dangled over the end and there was approximately two inches in between the bed and the wall. Furthermore, we were placed across the street (something not mentioned). The host apologized profusely for the inadequate accommodations, however, we were offered no other option nor compensation. There isn’t a definitive check-in/check-out space and there is a total lack of organization with the hotel and its layout. It’s a miss for us.

Very nice hotel directly located at the bus stop from the airport and to town. Rooms are very clean and cozy, bath room rather small, but it had everything we needed. Breakfast can be chosen from continental or scottish, leaves nothing to be desired. Diner menu excellent. As most guests are eldery, they as we also would prefer more higher tables and chairs.

From the first person I met as I walked in to last person who checked me out the personal service was outstanding. We were given tea as soon as we arrived. We got lots of good advice on seeing Edinburgh. The food in the hotel was quite good both for dinner and for breakfast. The waitstaff quick pleasant and the service was fast. A wonderful small hotel that is within walking distance to the city center. We would definitely go back.

Fabulous property!! Old and beautiful! Has everything you need! The breakfast was great! The location is a 30 minute walk to City Center, but the city Transporation is so easy and right in front of the hotel! Every one on staff was awesome!!

We loved the old architecture and splendor of the decor. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The bar area was wonderful and cozy with excellent cocktails. It is very conveniently located, only a 12 min bus ride of 30 min walk from the castle. We would definitely stay again.

Such a gorgeous property with a great breakfast and excellent service. The staff were so friendly and helpful at every point in our stay. The location is a bit outside the tourist center, but it's right in front of a bus station that takes you right to Regent St. which I thought was the best of both worlds.

The Roseate is een erg mooi karakteristiek gebouw met een fraaie entree, bar en restaurant. Het personeel en de service was erg goed. Bedden waren ook prima. Minpunt was het feit, dat onze kamer (in het tegenover The Roseate aan de overkant van de straat gelegen gebouw) klein en erg gehorig was. Ieder geluid van (boven)buren was te horen en nachtrust verstorend.
