"It was a perfect stay. Very helpful and responsive staff. We needed room for three adults, and the bed and daybed with pull-out were just right. Comfortable mattresses, enough blankets, clean bathroom and kitchenette, easy parking, easy check-in and check-out. The kitchenette had what we needed for easy breakfast and coffee. "The Inn is upstairs from the restaurant. I believe my room was right above the kitchen, which made it very hot and very noisy. The thermostat in my room did not work which meant I had to open windows to get some relief from the heat. Normally not a problem, but because the kitchen was right below me, opening the window just made it louder and it felt like I could smell exhaust from the kitchen fans. "We’ve stayed at Jay Peak in the past and both times were good. Clean cabins, good food. This time was a poor experience and we won’t be back. Our cabin was filthy. The bedding and bathroom was covered in hair, the pull out couch was a thin piece of foam on an awful bed of springs. The bedroom smelled horribly of urine and the main area of the cabin had a strange odor to it as well. It was very disappointing "

So even though the listing says they have pools and hot tubs, don't expect to be able to use them unless you pay more when you get there. "We had a wonderful experience staying at the Black Lantern Inn. The Inn is location on the main street, and very easy to find. We didn't get to the property until 1:00 AM, and the property were decorated with Christmas lighting, which made it cozy and super easier find the place, especially when it was so dark out. There's a small parking lot between the two buildings, and our room was in the Burdette House. The buildings are vintage, but the room has all the towels and basic shampoos, and...

"We absolutely loved our stay here. The location could not have been more perfect. Everything was on point except we did have a little bit of a letdown with both of their outdoor hot tubs being out of service while we were there. That was literally the reason for us booking other than the absolutely adorable cabins. Thankfully they had another property that we could use the hot tub but it wasn’t outdoors. "
